1) If the owner of the website has about 1.7k posts, then a mod should be ok with less than a thousand.
2) No shit talking to staff will help. They're not going to mod some random ass kid with 20 vouches over someone who they always talk to and personally trust, are they?

 

I always thought there were certain..criteria that had to be met to get mod, not to just be a friend of the staff.

You are correct, talking to staff does certainly help because then they can get to know you, which will highten your chances. But on this site, there seems to be a lack of standards that are kept, not "Oh lawd i know this guy i liek talkz to him everydayz on msn".

How do you think people get staff? Do you think the admins and globals go around viewing each individual to see if they are staff material? No, individuals talk to them and eventually when they are friends and staff deem them trustworthy, they get staff position. You Jew proved his trustworthiness in many ways and got staff, but he's friends with most of the staff.

But getting staff has probably become 10x easier than 1-2 years ago, so yeah, I agree with you.

 

Mods talk to many people all day long. The ones that are chosen are trusted and have the certain..criteria.
