    New laptop

I'm going to be working for a chunk of summer to raise 1,000 euro for a new laptop. I originally planned to buy a desktop but I was just browsing some laptops and realized that their specs could handle what a desktop could.

I need something that can auto on runescape ,video conversation on stickam and video conversation on msn.

I had my eye on this: https://shop.sonystyle-europe.com/SonyStyle/VAIO-Laptop-PCs/CS-Series-14-1"/VGNCS11S/Q.CEK

But if you could get me something better/the same for a better price then leave it here. Thanks.

I'll probably end up playing cs too if I get something around the specs of that sony. It has a lovely card too.

    New laptop

EEE PC 1000h, small, light, powerful.

I'm using one right now, get yourself a cheap optical mouse, upgrade the RAM and your laughing. Benchtested it can run GTA:VC pretty well if you need a comparison. (And thats without the upgrade)

    EEE - http://www.amazon.co.uk/1000H-BLK06...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1235099731&sr=8-1
    RAM - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-VS2...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1235099757&sr=1-1

Another point is get a portable hard drive and portable CD drive unless you want to be carrying things around on a USB drive.

Also, consider getting it on Linux, its worth the effort. I got mine on Windows and upgraded it to Linux (EEE Ubuntu) myself, never looked back.

As for the mouse, use your initiative, get whats right for you.

    Good luck.

Thing is, getting a desktop is so much cheeper, and has the ability to be upgrade more after. If all your doing is using the laptop as your main computer only in your house I find it a big waste of money.

    New laptop

i agree with Door , the amount of people that have said to me , iw ant a lap top , and ive said no get a desk top it will be cheaper in the logn run , and cost u less for upgrades. and there like aww no want a lap top , so they go n buy a lap top and a few months later bam , problems strike, no matter what laptop it is , all problems start occuring , even if its sony or asus, its still going to have problems. plus cheaper to upgrade than a lap top . my self , if i had £1000 id have a desktop , top of the range. i dont rly like laptos too much , i have a sony but i use the desktop more often. plus if u want to bot on a lap top i advise no longer than 6 hours. if u constantly leave the laptop on charge , even when it says battery full , ur burning up ther battery , and eventualy giving ur self more problems, when u unplug that laptop from charge now, it will have like 5 mins battery life, so then ull want another battery and so on. i could go on all day about propblems with laptops. there turd, worst thing, Mr. Laptop came up with lol. want mroe info , please reply ill carry on :)

Getting a desktop to fit into my room would be hell. The sony laptop I want has better specs then the computer I'm writing on, and a lovely card too.

If "problems" should occur, I have a warranty.

It won't be my main computer either. I'll really just use it to go on msn/stickam and auto on runescape. I'll use this one now to do everything else.
