As you can see, one of the first things you notice on your computer screen is my name, Lion god. I've never once used "God" at the end of any username until now. What I'm a bit angry over is the fact that the username I've NEVER been able to use on any forum, game, or site is the simple name of Lion. Now, You might say "Ahh, well, first come, first serve buddy, to bad." Which I completely agree with. What made me come here to type this up was the fact that the user, Lion, has not signed in for almost 3 years, and has 0 Posts...

I would KILL to have that username, and it would be nice if Sythe deleted some old names with little activity. I'm not asking he does, but it would be convenitent for me lol. I am being selfish, so, please feel free to post some names you'd love to have on Runescape, or any site for that matter.Thanks for reading, Lion. (God) lol....

 

What if I left for 3 years, then Sythe deleted my username, then someone else makes an account with the same username as the one I had and use my respect and trustworthyness to steal money from other users?

Also, your username isn't really a big issue here. Live with it, you can't change it.

 

It's not really a biggie dude. It's not like the name Lion is much cooler than your name now.

But for wowhamba, he doesn't have any respect or trustyworthyness, the name Lion has no posts.

 

Could just do what i did, add some symbols to the name you wanted hahah.

 

I'm sorry wowhamba, I didn't mean to strike some sort of importance on this thread, It was just a thought. I understand that if you had some sort of important relivance to how the specific forum, or site ran, you'd at least make some sort of notion to other members that you will be absent. Wether it be a phone call to another moderator, or such. Obviously they wouldn't delete the account. What could be suggested is that they warn users in the agreement they accept when they sign up that if their account is not active within a set amount of months, or years, it will be deleted completely. Also, using your example, how would the person signing up with that username know about the one previously made (3 years ago) was important, or not? Either way, I really didn't intend this thread to go like this, I just thought people would post some names they would like to have as usernames. No offence to anyone, and I wasn't really tempered when I wrote this thread. I apologize again, and thanks for understanding, Lion.

Chuck something on the end of it, for example what Tyson did. Or when I couldnt getthe name 134RR4G3 on some sites, so i had to put some I's on the end of each lol.

I agree with you though that old and unused acc's should be deleted.

For example a leecher who hasnt logged in for years.

Anywhere over leecher should never be deleted, but whats the point of keeping a leecher with a few posts who has left for years?

The username could be used for someone who will use and apprecaite it more.

Yes, i agree with him. Say someone like R2pleasent left, and didnt come back for almost 3 years, and his name was deleted. Say a scammer notices the fact that the username "R2pleasent" was available. He makes the username and he claims that he is Will and hes sorry but his name got deleted and hes now back, and he scams alot. That would be bad.
