4K Monitors

That RS page lol. How you liking the 4k aside from screen size problems?

 

Browsing websites on a 4k screen will not be enjoyable. Websites aren't set up for retina (2x pixels) let alone a 4k screen (4x pixels), so images will be very blurry.

 

You can just zoom by 150-200% and it should look very similar to the way it does in 1080p.

 

yeah.. 4k monitor has its uses.. apparently in gaming, it drops fps from what i was told

 

of course, you cannot really play 4k games on a budget, i guess 4 gtx 980s would but thats 2k so yeah

 

My 770 pushes 30 or 40 FPS on garrysmod depending on the map. With older games it can do better but not new AAA titles. 4k does however greatly reduce the need for anti-aliasing which helps with performance a ton.

 

Ok, my bad, didn't know about anti aliasing tbh, only knew it dropped a ton of FPS. I was looking at getting a 4k monitor maybe depending on what games I play over the next few months, but I reckon a 970 could run TF2 constant 120fps with tf2 surely?


How much of a difference is 4k in your opinion and would you say the extra pixels are worth it?

 

There is no 4k screens that can push 120FPS. You'll be scaling up the number of pixels by 4 so you will need a lot more memory and your frame rate will drop a lot.

 

yeah, but I like to stay safe, if my fps drops below 100 fps I get worried. Tbh, I will just get a 1440p monitor i think.
