Abortion?

Fair enough. So we should do everything in our power to modify human genetics so it's not necessary to ovulate every month for optimal survival? And no, I think every single sperm leads to a different baby, no? Isn't that how chromosomes kind of work?

Yes, every sperm does lead to a different baby, as it's the male who determines wether the baby is male or female.

But, the egg needs to sperm to grow, not vice versa.

True. But all I'm saying is that if you're going to use the "killing potential" argument, you need to really provide good evidence that it's only killing potential when the sperm and egg combine, otherwise it's easy to counter with the "what about using a condom?" argument.

Very true.

of course abortion is necessary, and if you dont believe me here is an example.

if a chick gets raped and she gets impregnated by the event than why isnt it appropriate for her to have the child removed. you may say its not christian etc but if that person ends up conceiving the child it would be a reminder of possibly the worst part of her life.

so take that and many other things into consideration

Let's put it this way.

If a woman truly wants to abort a rape baby, let her.

If a woman doesn't don't push her? And that's exactly what I see doctors doing, pushing to abort a rape baby.

Freedom of speech, the doctor can express his opinions to the patient unless she refuses his advice, you can't tell them to stop, pfft.

There's a difference between trying to help and urging someone to murder a human being.

EDIT:

You can't say you're going to kill the President, why can a doctor URGE somebody to murder their baby?

That doesn't make the law right. It is ridiculous to hold somebody responsible for another's actions.

Why would you?

If I was pressured to abort my rape baby, I'd fucking sue the doctor, get a new house, etc.

But, nonetheless, the woman SHOULD take an after-pill after being raped.

Kinda helps.

And that is what is ridiculous. The doctor has a right to say what he will, and if you act upon it, that is your responsibility.

But to a rape victim?

If you tell a rape victim to spin upside down on her, she'll do it.
There's a difference between a rape victim and someone who is in their complete mind.

I would say that the doctor is helping by urging her to abort the baby if the mother is not financially capable of supporting the child, nor emotionally ready to raise a child alone, even if should could do all that, it comes down to her to chose whether or not she wants to have the baby no matter what the reason, the being is growing inside of her and she can chose if wants to terminate it or give birth.

Just because you THINK that it is wrong etc etc, doesn't mean you can impose your beliefs on others, especially that they are irrational!

It's really non of your business, go away.

PS: Irrational beings do not have rights.

So, what, a rape victim doesn't have free will?

First of all, who said all rape victims are women? But more importantly; it's well established that women who have been raped for the most part have a severe psychological altering that makes them more subjective to control, especially from people with power. She still has free will, but generally, she goes to a doctor to get advice.

I didn't, but in the context of abortion, that's what we're talking about. >_>

Correct, but she is still responsible for her own actions.

Hellz Nawt! My reason: If my biological mother believed it was a good idea I would be dead. >_<
Yes, it's true, I was adopted. And am damn grateful for it.

If your biological mother had aborted you, you wouldn't even be able to consider the issue. It wouldn't be positive, it wouldn't be negative, it would simply be the absence of anything.

Too true. That's what most people realize. You can't use arguments like "what would have happened if I was born someone else, or killed as a fetus?" because they're irrational - you don't have the power of reason during the stages at which abortion is performed [usually].

Modern society needs it. The father should have a say too because people forget thats its the female who can forget to use a candom too

I dont want a young girls (or boy for that matter) life becomming unhopeful because she/he made a mistake early in life

It's funny how you say Irrational beings do not have rights, because I've always thought racist people have no rights. Since your a Grade A example of a racist and all =D.

Also, a fetus has the "OPPORTUNITY" for life, it doesn't have life when it is a fetus, it is in almost a "sleep state" until it is given birth.

It basically goes with the whole "If it is intelligent, it shouldn't be killed." But the fetus does not have any intelligence to give it the protection it needs, it only has the OPPORTUNITY for intelligence.

Shredderbeam, there is a couple wrong things.

- I doubt that MOST of the people in the world now is an "unwanted baby" to even bring up the topic of an abortion.
- People say, "What if your mom got an abortion, you wouldn't be here right now", all I can say is, What if your dad jacked off that extra time?
