Abortion?

xx mdv xx said:
Yes, you should respect life because that person in your stomach could be something good one day and imagine if you were aborted, you wouldn't have your life today and would not have been able to experience life on Earth, which is not fair to the child who gets aborted.

Future actions are irrelevant concerning the right to life issue.

When you lose a baby to a misscarriage, and wanted it, all your views os abortion will change to pro-life. I guarantee it, one the other hand.

It's illegal to kill a dog, right?
With that said, the baby is human. It's illegal to murder (The different between murder, and killing, is murder has premeditation.)

Now.
Abortion, is murder. It is premeditated. It is human. It is living. It even has fingernails. It eat, drinks, etc. (Through the umbilical cord or whatever..) Would you say that's not murder? Why? Because it's in somebody's womb? keep the baby, and put it up for adoption. Maybe then we'll have a cure for cancer.

Emotions do not have a place in a logical debate.

What is moral and what the law specifies are not necessarily the same.

Are life, fingernails, and the ability to eat and drink all that one needs to be protected from murder?

Future events are irrelevant concerning the right-to-life issue.

I never said it was moral, or immoral, iI said it was illegal to kill, or to murder something, there for, it should be illegal to murder a baby human.

But it is law, and the point that it is human, and to murder a human, makes it need to be protected.

The law is not always moral. We cannot rely upon it as an absolute.

I personally think it should be up to the mother AND father, they were both part of the creation and if they feel they can't support a child or whatever the issue is they should be able to stop things before they get too far. I think a child never living is better than a child living a terrible life.

How else are you going to determine what should/should not be illegal, apart from using logic and morality?

God's law. The 10 commandments. It pretty much is the guideline to almost every law.

Shame more than 20% of the world's population do not believe in any type of God.

But most of them abide by the 10 commandments.

"Do not worship any other God besides me."
"Do not work on Sunday."
"Do not make any idols."
"Do not misuse the name of God."
"Do not commit adultery."
"Do not lie."

How many people have broken these?

Do not work on the Sabbath is not in the 10 commandments.

And cursing using God's name is generally frowned upon, but not illegal.

Committing adultery could be statutory rape, or just rape for all that matters.

And lying in court, is prosecutable.

Not it doesn't, it's on-topic. It has nothing to do with God existing.

If God doesn't exist, then the 10 Commandments are pieces of ancient mythology (they rely upon the authority of a God to make them legitimate). I think that the question of God's existence is quite relevant.

In case you weren't aware, the societies that both you and I live in are secular societies.

Maybe so, but it doesn't mean this country wasn't based on Christianity, making most of the laws, follow the 10 Commandments.

The only reason we have a separation from church and state, was the British King/Queen, forced them to fall under what they believed.

Our law is still based on it, even if God didn't exist, it would still be based on it.

What laws do we have that were similar to the 10 Commandments? Do not kill and steal? Hang on a second, let me look at virtually every other society in history...oh, look, they all have these laws. Maybe they stem from a basic human desire not to be murdered or robbed?

In any case, the Founding Fathers quite explicitly stated that we are not a Christian nation.

Actually, it was because the Founding Fathers believed that religion and government combined lead to tyranny, and because they believed that each man's religion was his own business.
