Abortion?

Shredderbeam's opinions should be clear from what he's been saying about your own.

What's the difference between a 10-week old fetus and a bunch of sperm and ova?

It's a difference when something is in progress of becoming something/one, than being nothing.

If you're trying to say sperm and a fetus is the same (not evolved from the same, but the exact samething), something must be wrong

Sperm without the egg = nothing.
But it's completely different when it's evolving in to something.

And I don't get your last part "bunch of sperm and ova?"

I would still like to see his answer like it would of been when he got asked, like I wrote before.

So the part where I said what you quoted me for, so in your personal opinion, you mean :
Girls should stop using the pill, no need for condoms, we should all just have sex and abort?

Actually, instead of seeing you criticising other peoples opinion, I would like to see yours, without quoting or pointing out something in other posts.

Yeah.

I think "young" people should have the right to abort, because of their future (not saying what they are doing is right.).
Older people, should know what they are doing, and should be prepared for the worse.
If it was rape, well, I would defiantly see abortion as an option.

I'm mainly for it, but a post on the first page, kind of annoyed me..

THAT is what I see as EXTREMELY WRONG!

If the fetus is a life deserving of human rights, then abortion should never be an option. However, you seem to think that it is an option in some circumstances. If the fetus has human rights, why?

Yeah.

If a couple decided to get pregnant, and changed their mind.
Or in other words, if it was intentional to get pregnant in the first place.

Then again, I still think what Swan or what the heck his name is, was pure stupidity, saying you should use or question why not abortion instead of the pill.
Reffering to :
Abortion is also by all means a way of pregnancy control. Rather than the pill, why not abortion? So on, etc.

(Sadly, I don't get your last part "If the fetus has human rights, why?", so I can't really answer it right now, I'll wait until you rephrase it.)

If a human fetus has rights, abortion is murder, and is unacceptable in all situations.

However, you support its use in some situations. Why?

Because if someone got raped, I really don't think they would want to keep the kid.

So if someone got "forced" to get pregnant, I think it's right, I'm more for abortion, than against, but I've already said that earlier on.

Teen pregnancy, because the child and the teen would get a really rough future, and I doubt there would be a lot of happiness in it, surely there could be, but it would be really hard for her to finish her education, and normally "teen love" normally don't last forever, so "he - the father" would of probably of gone somewhere else.

Then by your own logic, you condone murder when it's committed for convenience. Nice.

What I'm saying is that, from a ethical standpoint, there is no difference between sperm/eggs and a fetus (which doesn't have the qualities of a "person", like being able to feel pain etc).

So the part where I said what you quoted me for, so in your personal opinion, you mean :

I don't see any moral grounds for not accepting what Swan says (even though that wasn't quite what he said. There are definitely practical reasons for using the pill and condoms, but not moral ones.

So letting something start evolving into something, and then "end" it before it does is right then?

Not even going to bother to explain it to you, you're to stubborn to actually listen to what other people say.
Except the ones that are up your arse, and I'm defently not planing on joining them.

I'm making no moral judgments. I'm evaluating your own position using conceptual analysis - and your position is incoherent. Please review your stance on this issue.

Clearly if he's arguing back then he is listening o_O

Asking stupid questions are always easier than answering.

Who ever is asking, always got an advantage, which is what he keeps using, and he ignored me when I wanted him to explain his point of view as if he got asked about it, without quoting or asking anything..

So I got ignored, now I'll just ignore him.

My position is obvious from my questioning.

I do not see abortion as any sort of moral problem given the lack of reasons to consider a fetus worthy of rights.

I support something that's legally right in most places.
But still think there's something wrong with it, because I'm a moral being.

Who's up Shredderbeam's arse?
Most people on this forum, and you probably are aswell.

But then he is listening to you, So...?
But still ignored my question, so obviously not to all of it.

What do you mean by "most places"? Abortion is legal in most of the developed world, up till the point where the fetus is considered worthy of rights.

Most people on this forum, and you probably are aswell.

I guess that's true o_O I disagree with Shredder on a bunch of issues though.

For me, it entirely depends on the situation. Say, the woman does not want to get pregnant and the man maybe uses a condom to help this. Later on, the woman finds herself to be pregnent. Since she did not want this child, she decides to have an abortion, this I would say is fine.

On the other hand, we'll put ourselfs in a different situation. A woman is at a Night Club and gets herself drunk, a man decided to ask her back to his flat. Being drunk, she agrees. Later on, they have sex and then the woman finds herself shocked as she is pregnant.

She never wanted this child so she decides to have an abortion. This I cannot stand for, the woman makes a little mistake and takes away a child which could of had a decent life ahead of itself. I think I speak for a lot of people by saying this, hope you think the same way.

“I’ve noticed that everybody that is for abortion has already been born.” - Ronald Reagan

Whoever this Ronald Reagan is, he has made a very good point there. People who don't think about having an abortion should take a minute and think more about it. That quote is very interesting indeed, people should be more gratefull they have life, and think more about the thing inside you that could have life.

I'm competely against abortion.

Care to tell us why?

But the child in the first situation could of also had a good life...

In the second situation, what if the woman thought the man had a condom on? Would abortion be okay then?

This I cannot stand for

You should sit down then ;)
