    Explanation of the trade: I purchased an account on the 12th March off ArgenGold for 1350m. The account turned out that they weren’t the Original Owner which in there T&C’s states that they would let me know if they weren’t to which they didn’t. I received the account details and changed the Jagex Account email and password. The one thing I did not do is change the original email password. They messaged me a few times asking if everything was OK to which I confirmed everything is OK as everything was working.

    How they scammed: However on the Sunday 17th morning I tried logging in to the account and it didn’t work. I messaged them and checked the email to see if anything had been sent which it did. It said that the email has been changed on the jagex account. This was relayed to Argen Gold. To their credit they have tried helping recover the account as the account name has been changed however jagex have basically said they can’t. They have been speaking to me but it has been over 10 days and I’m currently 1.35b down as I don’t have access to the account. The original owner is also speaking to them however he still has access to the original email and it just feels like they are siding with him. They don’t speak the greatest English and I tried dealing with Argen directly to which he said he isn’t making a decision it’s up to one of his workers. I have been asking for daily updates to which I haven’t been receiving. Since then there has also been an email to the original email I got asking to change the email to which as already stated the original owner has access to. I feel like I am not getting anywhere.

    Hello! I have just been notified of this report. This is not a scam, for everyone dming me, thank you <3

    I'll speak on behalf of our ArgenGold and our Account Team, which are in contact with User in question.
    We'll defend our case in this message and then we will wait for mods/admins to followup so we can then continue.

    First, TOS:

    User is right that we failed to mention that we were no OO of the account stated in Article N7
    "7- We are not OO of ALL the accounts. We will always inform you which case we are and which cases we are not
    UNREGISTERED Accounts are trained by our in house trainers
    REGISTERED Accounts might NOT be trained by our staff team, instead be a resell"

    Second, details of the transaction:
    User has paid 1350M osrs for an OSRS account. We delivered the account details at 03/12/2024 6:32 PM (GMT -3:00).
    Details incude: Oldschool Runescape + Gmail log in information
    We made a mistake and switched Gmail Password for the OSRS password, this took one hour for our team and user to notice so we solved it, after that, Whu98 and the Account team continued for about 2 hours, guiding him through the changing account information process. And we were left to one Gmail verification code to be verified but then we never got an answer back:

    We always ask for our buyers to change all acocunt information on the act, not wait more than 24 hours:
    "4- You will have a 24 Hour Window to change and confirm the reception of the account. After you have confirmed everything has been changed, we will then mark this process as completed. If you dont confirm anything for 24 hours, this process will be marked as completed. Please make sure to change everything after you make the purchase."
    On the next day, 03/13/2024 11:03 AM, our account team reaches out to him asking if everything was secured and if he still needed help with the Gmail where he confirmed "Done it now buddy", and we never got an answer back:

    ... By this point its way over 24 hours from when the account information and account has been secured, and its the customers job to change passwords..

    Throught 03/13/2024 to 03/16/2024 we tried contacting Whu98 numerous times to confirm again just in case everything was confirmed, but he never answered:

    On 03/16/2024 4:30 AM, Only 4 days after purchase on, he confirmed there was no issues, using his words.... "SO FAR"...


    He also mentions that he has a mobile number changing issue where our staff team helped him, user first though that the mobile number was from jagex accounts so he sent us this picture:
    He was trying to edit stuff at the Jagex Account system at 03/16/2024 5:33PM:

    There was a CHANGE EMAIL REQUEST at 03/16/2024 5:32PM:

    Two days later, on 03/18/2024 9:27 AM he contacts us saying that he is in the middle of recovering the account because:
    "Account worked perfect until yesterday
    I changed the email but now says that email isn’t linked to the account
    Starting to feel like I have been scammed to be honest
    Any help would be great"
    By this point we started exchanging screenshots and information between the ArgenGold Account team and Whu98 trying to figure out what happened and trying to solve/recover the account.

    We tried numerous times sending him recovery requests to change email address, but the original account email coudnt be found anymore because he assigned his email to the account, check here
    He claims that the email that he gets from Jagex is not from the account that he bought...
    Our dedicated Account team been helping him since then with no luck so far recovering or gaining any sufficient information on what really happened...

    At this point, there's a lot of mixed info from Whu98. He confirmed multiple times he changed all account details (Can't verify if info provided is real). From now on, he's been reading the TOS where T6 states we only offer refunds if his claim is true. He's been contacting our staff team and me but hasn't been cooperative enough to solve this and secure the account back instead just wants refund of an account that has been sold to him and its nearly impossible to recover. He keeps asking for a 100% refund or he'll open a report here on Sythe.

    While all of this is going on, we have been in contact with the account supplier (Account Owner) and he's been trying to help us resolve this situation, sending recovery requests but they are getting nowhere yet, so we will wait for this case to be over and sealed with before we take any actions. Why would someone recover an account, try to help us secure it again if he has not been paid yet?

    It's possible that Whu98's hectic schedule contributed to some errors or misunderstandings when updating the account login system, password, and email by himself. As a result, being unable to access the account.

    He claims that the email that he gets from Jagex is not from the account that he bought... - You can see that this is not the account... look at the RSN and the stats nothing is the same ?

    He keeps asking for a 100% refund or he'll open a report here on Sythe. - Never once said that, I said am I okay to open sythe report, please provide me with a screenshot where I said give me a refund, because the below screenshot says diffeent.

    The only error I made was not changing the email password which I hold my hands up to. However, it is clear what has happened here, regarding you saying I haven't been communicating, I don't even know how you can say that.

    As discussed on Discord, I have emailed Jagex on the back end of my recovery attempt
    To revert emails to the original owner, however based on emails that he has sent I believe he isn’t the OO either. We shall see and I will keep Argen / The Thread updated.

    Thanks for repaying this @Argen .

    After discussing with the staff team, we believe that a Trade with caution is warranted here due to your violation of your own terms of service. You failed to inform the customer that you were not the original owner of the account. Although the terms of service mention that you are not the original owner of all the accounts you sell, they also state that you will inform the customer if you are not. In this case, you did not, so the customer would be under the assumption that you were the original owner of the account.

    You can dispute this in 30 days here.

    Edit: To clarify OP pm'd me on discord confirming this has been paid, deleted post for staff to see.
