IMO love is a piece of shit.
i don't believe in love for your family, friends or a significant other. Not cause im a cold hearted person and don't get me wrong i like people but i don't think 2 people can love each other as the definition of love stands. =[
its sad that i cant or just havn't found it yet. but so far thats where i stand

You are similar to me.

I believe love is a simple emotion of affection towards any object or living thing. I generally don't feel it unless I'm talking about objects. I "love" tea, I "love" reading, I "love" the sciences, I "love" anime and manga, and I "love" places like Japan and S. Korea.

I am indifferent towards women, too. People seem to think that you need to show more respect to them, but to me, they are just humans that I don't know, and humans I don't know are as good as objects to me. Even for my female friends, I just treat them as friends.

There is a love between myself and my friends of course, but that is simply a thin line. They are people I feel some connection to, and that is all. I find some of my friends about as interesting as every other person - in other words, not very.

I do not commit myself to any sort of mutual relationship with another person, that "love" doesn't seem to have much point to me. That "love" is simple and quite stupid most of the time. Thus, I do not seek a girlfriend, nor do I treat girls like anything special.
 
Love to me is a feeling you get inside, when you see those you have deep feeling for. When you think about the person all the time, even when your mad. It's a really deep feeling you get. Then love again is a harsh thing. Those deep feeling you have towards the person can hurt you. When you found out they cheated on you/ break up with you.

I used to feel that way, right up until I figured it's not worth the mental punishment and stopped caring.

It's easy not to care for me. I'm quite oblivious as to why people DO care.
 
Love is when you're around someone,and you feel like no matter what happens you will have a good time.
Love is when you're feeling miserable and you talk to that certain person,and your whole day just gets better.
Love is being around someone who can never make you mad :)
 
Love does exist, but only in your head. I know nothing of science, but it is all the release of chemicals by your brain, so technically, love doesn't actually exist. It is something that once felt is incomparable to anything else because it is so inexplicable. It has different forms to satisfy different groups of people, and it certainly exists in our lives.

love exists, but you dont know how its gunna make YOU (personally) feel until YOU are in love, most people think there in love when its just a faze.

(obviously). saying that love doesnt exist is like saying all our other emotions dont exist. to have love for someone? its the best feeling in the world, and in the end it will do something for you, whether your like me and found my soul mate at 16 (dont even question that, wont even argue) or you find him/her at 30 or 50 or even 70. you need love in your life otherwise your a lifeless, emotionless, sack of skin and bone.

The only thing I've seen love do is cause mental anguish and corruption of law. It is more or less a mask to hide behind, from the way I see it.

I guess that makes me a lifeless, emotionless sack of skin and bone. However, I am very much alive, and I have emotions - of like, dislike, hate, annoyance, anger, being interested and so on. Not every aspect of my life is geared towards gathering knowledge and working.

its only mental anguish if you lose it and thus that wasnt your true love, who knows swan you might find someone in your later years. and love isnt about knowledge or working, its the feeling of having someone there when you need it, so your saying you dont love your parents? or they dont love you? theres 2 forms of love, the love you have for your friends, family, pets, etc. and then theres the deeper love, the compatibility's with someone you feel, the lust and want for them, the deep satisfaction that you know that they have the same feelings for you, you can see it in there eyes. the first time i looked into my soon to be wifes eyes, i knew she was my other half "my soul mate" if you will, age means nothing in the game of love and some people know that, some people ignore it, some people think its a bunch of bullshit, but everybody finds out one day, what love actually means.

I was not just talking about myself.

Nonetheless, I see no point. I simply prefer to be solitary in a quiet place where I can think without distractions. These distractions include other people. The only reason I generally have "real friends" is because I must go to school; I could quite live without them. I guess you would class me as anti-social, but I really don't like others, hence to love another person is not my "game". I am not completely emotionless, otherwise I would not be on these forums.

Also, read my other posts. They connect with what I am saying here. Note that a lot of my posts can sometimes disagree with each other at points - it depends on two things: How I feel mentally, and how I feel physically (tired, sore etc).
 
Love exists for people who want to believe in it. I myself think of "love" as a game That one cannot win.
 
Its just that love isn't for anybody. Love is a phrase we use to show affection but where does that love come from as it doesn't come from your heart. Love is a part of life that can be either hurtful or pleasurable. If you say I love you to your parents that is showing affection that you care for your parents. If you say I love you to a friend, girl or boy, It can mean you have strong feelings for them. When you say it to your parents your not saying that you have strong feels you are just saying that you care for them.
