Is auto bumping against the rules?

I'm sorry if the answer is somewhere but I've looked into it and only found conflicting information.

I assume that if you are a 300$ donor, it's not because you even get a whitelisted IP but I'm curious to know if auto-bumping without a white listed IP is against the rules?

Also, while at it, does the 300$ donor perk include the auto bumping functionality or just the whitelisted IP? I assume I would have to make or get the auto-bumping software myself, is that right?

• Autobumping: Using a tool to automatically bump your threads is not allowed, manual assistance tools are permitted. Results in a 1 week ban.
  • An exception exists for $300+ donors who have had an IP whitelisted in the user center. These users may whitelist one IP address for an autobumper that bumps only their own threads. Normal bumping rulesstill apply.

It’s against the rules to use an autobumper if you’re not a 300$ donor and an autobumper is a tool you can buy/get from the market on here, you don’t get it by being a 300$ donor.

The auto-bumper has to follow the standard bump rule of only bumping every 4 hours.
Otherwise, assuming you're at the donor status and you've whitelisted the IP for autobumping, then you should be good.

 

On a slightly different subject but related, is there any rule against auto-thread editing? I would like to make the main thread for my bot platform have a live feel with the platform stats updating once in a while.
If it is allowed, does it have a frequency limit too?

Pretty sure its allowed, auto-thread editing doesn't really push your thread up on the latest page, so don't see why there would be any limitations or restrictions on it

 

well... there would be no valid reason that I can think of to do it that often but I could update a thread every millisecond if I wanted, that spams sythe servers, specially if several people did that, basically a ddos lol

 

If you have your own reservations already I see no reason why you should do it.

 

I don’t think there’s any rules against doing so but just use common sense. If you update your thread every second you’re obviously abusing the system

 

Yeah. I set it to 5 minutes to give the stats of my platform a somewhat of a live feel. Thank you guys for the replies!

 

I’d suggest reading the member rules, there is a topic on autobumping under the major rules section which state it’s not allowed
