Heya guys

Heya doing guys, i just want to get some advice, I got into med school in Bulgaria(Plovdiv medical university), but I live in Australia. Could the wise people of sythe dispense me some nuggets of wisdom?

Also would like to hear about people's who live in Bulgaria in particular Plovdiv, and tips and tricks on how to survive a new country

I don't live in either of these countries, but I would contact some medical recruiters in your area, and see if that degree would be valuable enough to warrant such a large change in your life.
That is, assuming you want to return to Australia. If you're comfortable in Bulgaria and intend to move there forever, then hell, all the power to you.

I would not want to live in Bulgaria and completing a medical degree because salaries are very low comparing to Australia and I have family and friends that live here

but I applied with an agency and is also did some prior research and once I get my Bulgarian medical degree I have two options
1. Go to the UK and complete PLAB
2. Go to AUS and complete AMC

Pro and cons of 1.
Pro: Completing PLAB is much easier than AMC and I can specialize more quickly than if I was doing it in Australia
Cons: Transfering certification from UK to AUS will take time but very short amount of time in the grand scheme of things 1-2 months
Pros and cons of 2
Pro: As soon as a complete AMC i can immediately start working,
Cons: AMC is very hard to complete, pass rate is 10%-15% while PLAB is 80%, which is betta

but in seriousness you got some advice for me to mate, even not about medical school but about moving to a completely new place and starting a new chapter of my life. @WhiteSnake

 

Yeah, Il be serious for a second.

When you move to a new place/fresh start. you may be lonely.
Don't sacrifice the quality of friends for quantity.

If Australia where your from your life hasn't been the best, maybe down to Bullying or anything sad.

A new start is somewhere that you can reinvent yourself, get that second chance at being sociable
