I think this is the most important post on this thread. You are still viewing this as you need a way to get back to where you were. With this mindset you will rush/take shortcuts all to 'get back even'. I don't see gambling being a good way to get cash for you from your prior track record. I view this as you have a starting point of $10,000 now to invest/get a place to live with minimal $ for rent along with a part-time/full-time job to make a net gain every month.

You can also look into things like getting a real estate license & becoming a broker. Also flipping homes/wholesaling them/etc

Some great advice already, just wanted to say well on owning up to yourself through this thread that it's time to get your life back on track.

View it as a temporary setback, rather than a permanent defeat.

I agree with alot that has been said so far. Mainly the point of cutting your losses, the money is gone and that sucks but you still have plenty to sustain yourself for the next chapter in your life. Owning up to this and letting people know will help you in the long run. I had a similar issue and it very nearly broke me, my mental health was on the edge and began having suicidal thoughts. This is only my story but what helped me was telling the people close to me, there is no shame in your mistakes, people that care for you will help you in your time of need. As long as you learn from these mistakes! I went to a shrink which helped me the most, they taught me how to help myself and help you to understand your emotions. I'm happy that you've made the first step and started looking for help, wether it's here on sythe or somewhere else, IT'S A FANTASTIC START!! and you should be proud of yourself for making this step as it is one of the hardest parts. You've got this, keep your head up and think about your family, nothing is more precious than them! You've got this king <3
