India suffering is just the start of it. Prices of food has doubled their, and on their food. They spend usually $2 a day, and now a can of rice cost's $.80

So, this could be coming towards us, and i do believe it will be.

No one is going to stop using oil. The government will not support new forms of energy until all the oil runs out and they are swimming in cash. Plus General Motors has a patent on the electric car, so after oil runs out they will just switch to that.

There is still about $100 billion worth of oil in the earth for the government to profit off.

Never said we would stop using oil.

As i said in my first post, and every post everyone else has post that i corrected them on, i simply said cut down on it.

    It's really not that hard.

We're not running out of gas, thats just some aullshit to raise the gas prices. The reason they can raise the prices is because it's not against the law and because they just can.

And because they do control the supply..

The whole point of this thread is to show you that raising gas prices are causing people to starve because they need fuel to get the goods to where they are.

i agree. and the war with iraq is because of the greed by Great Britain and the U.S. to regain the oil we had back. (The Middle East attempted to gain THEIR oil back) We and Great Britain are not elping democracy..we are showing the world tht we are filled with greed and will do anything to show everyone else that we are badass...? not cool bush...not cool.

All right here is the end of your ridiculous discussion. I said that you are un-aware with how you are backing up your statements in the discussion, now I am gonna start off by telling you, that like deadzone said, you insulted yourself and you are epically failing so hardcore on this thread I almost shit bricks. Now someone said that UK is also amazing, yes! This is why our economy is being screwed with because the world effects us because we do not produce, get it? Good. Now TJ what you forgot up there is that when I said something useful to the topic you would rather pull out what you would interpret as a mistake, actually if you read that, what I said is, you don't know what you are talking about and that you are truly lost in what everyone is saying.

We need to find new resources because gas prices will just keep going up exponentially, they can't go down because there's only a certain amount of fossil fuels.

This morning on the news, Prime minister Kevin Rudd, is now focusing on Sugar Cane and Alcohol based fuels like ethanol.

People plant cane sugar > good for the environment > then get fuel out of it.

    look, heres the deal...

Katrina was a huge excuse to raise the gas prices. We are running out, but not running out for it to jump $1.30 the past 4 years. If we are using gas that fast that in 4 years that it jumps up $1.30 then we have bigger problems. The war is also a huge excuse.

This is a proposal that someone else thought of. Instead of everyone not buying or using gas for a day (which utterly failed, if you even heard of it), no one should buy gas from the top two Gas companies, Exxon and Mobil, then they will be forced to lower their prices, causing the gas industry in general to lower their prices to compete with Exxon and Mobil at that time. The key is still don't use Exxon and Mobil after prices have started dropping, else they will just raise them back up again. You would need to siphon it out so Exxon and Mobil get enough money to be competition to the rest of the Gas industry, but not a threat. This way they will be forced to lower their gas. This would work if you could get enough people to participate in it.

Yes, but it is healthier for the environment.

    True that.

Even if a SMALL portion of people stop using fossil fuels and go to other forms to fuel cars etc. that will make all prices of food that have those particular things in it sky rocket because there will not be enough farmers to grow enough expecially if they have a bad harvest and on top of that there are not nearly as many farmers around as there use to be. So how about you think before you speak next time.
