[Food] Whataburger - Mushroom and Swiss Burger Review

I've had mushrooms at non-fast food joints. I don't mind them. I find them to be flavorless and only texture - a texture I don't mind too much. Will it work in a fast food environment?

The first thing I notice when I open the burger to take a picture of the guts was the smell. A horrible smell. I knew that I was not going to enjoy the flavor of the mushrooms. To make matters worse, there were a lot of mushrooms, there were more between the patties, even!

I take a bite.

Pretty good buns today, after having multiple raw buns my last two trips.

Meat was HOT. Great as usual. Nothing exciting.

Luckily my burger had Swiss Cheese and JoshuaG didn't steal it all. The Swiss was actually pretty good with the burger, but I still think cheddar is beddar. I haven't had Swiss in a while, so it was a nice change.

The mushrooms tasted like water. They certainly weren't cooked right, and they also had a bit of a dirt, earthy flavor. I feel like that part is normal, but the dirty water flavor is NOT. Maybe other fast food joints make better Mushroom and Swiss burgers, but this will be my first and only time getting one.

The creamy Au Jus sauce was aw just about mediocre. I'm not sure if I could give a fair account without the mushrooms invading, but some bites where I tried to taste the sauce it was pretty good, but other times it had a funk to it. I blame the mushrooms for taking over. Unfortunate the sauce didn't stand a chance.

Low 1/5. I still ate the burger, removing as many shrooms as I could while keeping some in for review purposes.

I don't like either cheese nor mushrooms, well I only like one type of shrooms but these aren't looking like the ones I love...

Thanks for the review my kind sir. I wouldn't have had this meal before and now that you aren't vouching for it, I will definitely never eat this food in my life!

Looks kinda gross but I have a question: I’ve heard a rumor that once you eat at Whataburger the smell sticks to you for a couple days. Can you confirm or deny this?

 

Yeah, but if you're ever around a Whataburger in genral.. DO TRY .

Very gross. I wish I had tried the Chorizo burger instead . I can wholeheartedly deny this. Maybe it'll stick to you if you leave the trash in your pocket? No one has ever mentioned a smell and I've never heard about that. Whataburger is just delicious.
