You just have to go out there and find em, maybe pick up some more social hobbies or join communities around existing ones? Even something as simple as going for a run and looking around can find you a running buddy.

I don't speak the language my current country speaks, and most of the people around me do not speak English.

I don't see how that counts as an excuse, unless you're talking about me not speaking the language this country speaks.

I work at home using English, the few people I know here speak English to me.. Etc. Not much motivation to start picking up a new language for the reason of possibly finding a group of friends, especially since it's unlikely I'll be staying here for much longer.

A small town in Germany. Whenever I travel outside of the town to one of the bigger cities, I meet people in bars etc. who speak proper English but then again they live quite far away which naturally limits the mutual relationship.

Other than that, I am too lazy to stay in touch with most of the people I have met. So that's on me.
