Friend of mine is looking for a laptop for around the $600 range. Does light gaming (runescape) and mostly browsing etc. Looking for good specs for the money, and I'm not tech savvy.

I'd recommend the Acer VX15, or the Dell 15 7000 gaming laptop. Those laptops are the best bang for your buck. I've been looking into those laptops myself. Though your friend would need to bump up a $100. There's several different configurations to choose from.

at 600$ usd u can pretty much get end line but for browsing I would just go with the Pentium line (cheap ones) because the u series that every store has in stock right now is pointless (i5-i7 running dual core/same shit, different price), amd laptops are much better even if they benchmark less because u are guanteed going to find a quad core around which intel is throwing into their gaming laptops.

Just know that if he wants to insert another HDD, he will need to contact Acer for the installation kit.
