So true, when i really think about it there's plenty of sticky's and warnings to people that it IS really their fault for getting scammed most of the time. Though every once in a while an official or someone scams. I say either way whether anything is done or not, the scamming on this site will be from noobs to noobs.

Once again people need to be more careful. People are like omfg they took the account back. ALL RUNESCAPE ACCOUNTS CAN BE TAKEN BACK SOMEHOW.

 

Honestly, hundreds. But, i have common sense. I have never, ever, been scammed, anywhere. You honestly have to be an idiot.

 

Thats actually a good point. Im starting to get fed up with all those who get scammed so easily that i say just let em get scammed and learn a lesson.

 

well theres some pretty smart scammers out there. I have been scammed once, and when i joined sythe, no1 told me post count doesnt matter, and no one told me to watch out for scammers. I had no clue what a MM is, theres no spot where it describes one.

And when i went to other sites and started MMing, and said i was from sythe, they all screamed scammer =p.

 

Just think, sythe is 5 times bigger than fagex.

Yes it is their fault for getting scammed, though not all of the time. Some people are new and think paypal for example is safe though people who have been here and other websites know it isn't. Yes their are allot of scammers though most if it are the same scammers filtering through over and over again.

No the lock on registration wont happen just like Steph said though the post count would bring down the amount of scammers by a significant amount just because it would be to hard for them to get enough posts. (saying it was 150-200) That would also help because we could tell who has been spamming their way to get into the black market or not.

There are to many ideas to use them all and though they may be good Sythe and the other admins may not totally agree with them.

we have 5 times more MEMBERS, which a big majority are completely INACTIVE. 5 times more members does not mean 5 times more scammers.

 

I will bring back some of my most helpful, And most detailed guides about how to not get scammed, keylogged ect... After i get back from my trip this weekend, Those who remember my guides loved me long time, They even stickied it because it was so nicely put together. I am with the shut down of registrations but it wont ever happen.

If people find it that hard to not get scammed i suggest:
Restrictions (maybe not postcount coz postcount restrictions = spammers)
People cannot say only 50/50
People cannot say no official MM
stuff like this, eliminate the general areas where people get scammed...

 

We can't force people to use official mm, people decide there own trading methods too, they are stupid enough to get scammed. Not our fault.

In my opionion the only way to cut down on scammers is to do what fagex has done with the high post count forums, however Sythe > Fagex, so i'm against it

 

Basically because the revenue will drop if he did that and the server cost would be too much of an "out of pocket expense".
