    Oh i see. I think I know the solution (without reformatting your comp) but you need your OS CD. And I have to find a code that I forgot.

    If you deleted/modified/moved/unset explorer.exe, the computer has no shell as to run off. Generally in XP pressing F7 at startup (not 100% sure when, try repeatedly) resets the shell to explorer.exe, though if that does not work try booting into command prompt, editing system.ini (command is just "edit system.ini" I think, as you will be in the C:/WINDOWS folder, and if not, cd C:/WINDOWS then "edit system.ini") and then simply restore the shell to explorer.exe and you should be fine.

    If that also doesn't work, then try creating a new partition and install a new version of windows on it and dualboot XP. Then you have a much easier interface to edit the needed system files of Windows and should be able to get your shell back up.

    I uninstalled System Mechanic 7.

    My computer worked fine for about a week, and now I get the message;

    "Smrdgf Program not found - Skipping AUTOCHECK"

    This message is displayed by windows.

    I can boot in safe mode.

    Try updating the driver right click My Computer | Manage | Device Manager | Find your wireless connection | Right click and Update driver.

    If that dosent work I would suggest buying a ethernet cord you can buy one at walmart for like $10 and you will get a perfect internet connection

    Hey, I hope you can help me out but I'm not so sure if you can.. Ok so basically what is happening is every time i push the button to start up my computer, it will just keeps running on high fan rpms and it never goes past that. It sometimes will work the first time i press it, but most of the time I will need to turn the computer on and off at least 20-30 times before it finally starts up.

    Any thoughts?

    I fixed my problem;

    Code:
    [B]Solution: [/B]I used CMD in Safemode With Command Prompt
    From there it was just simply using "CHKNTFS /X C:" To disable Autocheck on C: drive

    A computer guy formatted my computer, and put kind of a 30 day period "shop version" on it for me.

    Now the 30 days is up (cos i went on holiday) and when i try and enter my serial (it's the real windows xp home edition) it says something like there are 2 many computers running off this serial.

    This is not the case cos i think this is the only computer that has ever had this serial on, shall i just ring microsoft up and wait 30 mins in a queue.

    The wireless device might be having problems with a big game. So you may want to get faster wireless device.

    But if possible I would recommend just getting a Ethernet code from walmart and you wont have any trouble.
