Obby mauler questions

Stats:
1 attack
58 strength
1 defence
47 ranged
1 prayer
12 magic
47 hitpoints
40 slayer
Combat: 34.75

*47 ranged is all cannoned

Questions:
I want to get 55 slayer asap so I can train with the staff, so should I cannon ranged until I reach combat 40 for vannaka tasks?
Should I do vannaka tasks at all or stay with turael?
What should my ranged/magic lvl be if I want to start pking at 60-65 strength?
Should I train magic with offensive casts like fire bolt and gain hp levels, or do: curse, weaken, low alch etc?

Yea that's the best idea is use magic and range, ideally you want to train str early on with slayer task

 

Currently you are range based andmy best advice would be training your strength until 74 and then beginning tasks at vannaka and cannoning only tasks that you have to

 

Also do one small favor and all the easy achievement diaries

 

definitely cannon if you dont want hp exp

Having been a maxed Obby Mauler Pre-EoC, having sold a 39 cmb 55 slayer Mauler and also in the progress of creating another I can help you with any questions you may have.

Looking at your current build, as mentioned above you are range based, something which you don't want to happen otherwise eventually you may aswell develop yourself into a G-Mauler (Mistakes allot of Obby Maulers make)

Firstly since you're a 1 attack Obby Mauler your range levels are limited, meaning that the maximum capacity to remain a true melee based Obby Mauler ends at 67 range and only then if your have 99 strength.

Attack Levels = Range Levels.

Stick with Tureal, stop cannoning and start mauling majority of your tasks, on my previous 39 Cmb build the only tasks which I cannon'd was Kalphites and Wolves (Desert&White Wolf Mountain), everything else was Mauled, you can switch it up a little with mage seeing as 50 mage is a requirement to weird the staff aswell as the 55 slayer.

It took me a total of 262 Tureal Tasks without skipping in order to get 55 Slayer, I ended 39 cmb with 70 Strength and 50 range, later continue to train strength to 85 allowing me to Range>Maul pk without worrying to much about going range based till eventually selling the account for substational amount of gold.

 

when doing slayer, i used mage as a little macro efficiency because you have to level it anyway, it just depends on if you want the HP xp from it, if you don't want to gain extra HP then just do un-offensive spells to get the level.

Stick with the best master you can, and just grind out the tasks really.

The last obby mauler I had was 20 att 45 def 99 str and i had nearly 80 slayer on it before i quit, was so much fun

ALSO - the only range levels I got were to get a firecape, i got 50 range, had someone get a firecape for me and i didn't use range again, yeah range/maul is kinda the choice for obbys, but for ME melee pking as an obby was way more fun, it's more or less personal preference

 

From my experience, melee as many of those tasks as possible. You do need 50 mage for the SS anyway so use that aswell! the last thing you want is a ranged based obby unless thats specifically what you're going for.
