    Just a thought.

The other day I was talking to Boom Headshot, we were talking about applications and suddenly I realized something quite important: There is no standard procedure on what kind of applications get accepted and what kind does not. Seeing democracy is the only way to acceptance there is no really fair procedure. Of course there are a few decent guidelines, some applications just cannot get accepted because they are retarded. We have guidelines like proper grammer and spelling, usefulness and so on. But the deciding factor is with the UE himself. This method is vunarable to things like bribery and UE's accepting friends with no talent for the art of tutorials. In effect, the UE is given too much power in my opinion. I know that all UE's, when voting should give a decent reason why they think another user should be UE but it's the vote that counts in the end. See where I am going? Give your thought, and please be honest.

I've got many reasons, I personally think for one, Gone Fishing shouldn't be a User Educator, that's just one though, there are many user educators that are horribly bad.

That has absolutely nothing to do with what I was thinking about... But there you have it.

    Just a thought.

TDD and I had a discussion about this before, and we were deciding a new way for applicants to apply. A different, harder, longer process in which we actually test the User's intellectual capability. I'll start writing it up when I get the time, but without Unknown we can't do anything.

To the issue of a User Educator not being of good quality, or not belonging, trust me... I won't stand for it. There are quite a few who are almost up for demotion should they not follow the rules. There's not enough caring going around, and it's quite upsetting to put all this work into something without support.

    So that's settleable.

The issue of people accepted upon votes, well... Middlemen are accepted by voting =/.

The guides have to be acceptable, within guidelines, and inside the minor details set before them. There are quite a few applications I see not worthy of User Education, but everyone deserves a fair chance. Six denied you right away, and we had risen hell because of it and overthrew his decision. We do believe in fairness, and will execute it. So don't worry, more changes will be going underway, it just depresses me that Unknown gets back, and then goes into LOTRO again =/.

I am not saying you guys aren't fair the system just isn't well constructed, yes I do believe that we need stronger guidelines and a longer application proces. I also believe that the HUE know what they are doing, and doing it in intrest of the players.

Oh and thanks for going through hell for me, you're a darling.^^

It wasn't hell, it was funny :p!

I kind of know what most apps are, I'm expecting 3 more pretty soon because I get lots of PM's asking guidelines, and for help.. etc..

Yeah, I know what you're saying. I get my friends PMing me, saying 'ive dun a ue ap, sey yer fr me pl0x'

We need more specific guidelines. And we need to be more careful who we let in.

Exactly. This will also solve the problem of how to market UE.
