    You really think the site would cease to exist without the DNT system? Should have just owned up to your mistakes and unbanned those who were wrongfully banned by you/ staff for causing drama and left it at that. These people were the most active anyways and have been the ones contributing to the community since their return.

    Just curious what do you consider an indictable offence because in Canada theft under $5k can be an indictable offence.

    The staff team has always been notorious for voting for their favorites. Why not allow them to post their biased opinions, but you decide who gets promoted.

    I've never liked how mods discuss a mod candidate without allowing the candidate to form a rebuttal.

    Lots of mistakes were made both by members who were banned and by existing staff and myself. I've admitted plenty of mistakes and have no trouble doing that. One mistake I made was letting the staff run this site to the position its in now without intervention. Another mistake I made was not having the foresight and good judgement to put in DNT when the original pardon system was implemented. Another mistake I made was being far too hardline on morals without any consideration for pragmatic consequences of those hardline positions. The dick pics fiasco should not have resulted in perm bans but it was consistent with the site's philosophy at the time.

    DNT isn't about finding a way to unban drama bans. I could easily just have done that on its own. DNT is the logical little brother of the pardon system. DNT is about the fact that you can pick a random thread on this site and 90% of the posts are from banned users. The ban rate on this site is astronomical. DNT is about the fact that half our active users are ban evaders. It's about a system which is fundamentally broken because it does not differentiate punishment from protection and restitution like literally every other justice system in the world does.

    But w/e man just quit if you don't think its good enough for you

    So? I don't see what that has to do with anything. Creating new content / subsections, advertising to new markets and proactively preparing for new game releases in hopes to draw in that crowd doesn't have anything to do with the forum software we use.

    All I said was that people have been asking for this site to move away, or at least direct some of its attention away from RS for a long time now. For whatever reason it seems like you are under the impression that people are trying to hold onto RS for dear life.

    That's probably the best explanation I've seen about your justification and if you truly feel it will work I'm not going to continue arguing against it, there's no point arguing against something that won't change.

    I wouldn't leave over something like this but communicating these changes better can probably avoid a lot of the backlash.
