Application for SFA mod

I would like to humbly apply to be a moderator of the Something for All (SFA) forum here at Sythe.org. I am a strong believer that proactive sectional mods boost activity in sections and help grow our community. I have vast amounts of experience both in moderating forums as well as moderating the SFA forum itself. I also am very active in the SFA forum, being the fourth highest poster, only behind @Shredderbeam, @Sythe, and @malakadang, in that order.

Last month there was only 98 posts in the SFA forum which clearly is not all that great. In contrast during July 2010 there was 910 posts, an order of magnitude more.

I believe that with a few key posts and good, consistent, and firm moderation the forum can be made great again, like with what @SellerMan and @n4n0 have done in the movies and TV forum.

I hope that this plea is met with support from the greater community and that the powers at be will strongly consider this notion.

Active users at that time got older, found better things to spend their time on or got banned
Typical topics and talking points have been exhausted
User base pool for newly registered users have dropped in quality (mostly vaders)
Strict rules prohibits more activity
Usually consists of two users debating at a time

I believe that we can change that and with measurable goals in place the community can hold me accoutable so that if I fail I can be removed without fuss.

 

having a couple good people in that section can make all the difference.

i wouldn't mind some nerds in SFA. I haven't touched that section in a while cos nothing interesting.

 

The comparison is fair but not quite right, I think. It shouldn't be very controversialat all promoting an ex global to sectional mod.

Thanks for the insight. While anyone can propose a discussion about something interesting it is often times not done by those who are not already deeply involved or attached to the section. Giving people an incentive and reward for starting high quality threads should be looked into but for the time being we can always just have people like @SellerMan promote acitivit without the incentives.
