Obvious reason as to why to not allow SRB's is the same reason as DnT, it keeps there from being 5,000 banned accounts everywhere .

It's also a lot easier for a user to return who is unbanned and can just login 1 day vs requesting a unban, encourages users to come back.

 

Just going to encourage more scam quits if people can't disassociate themselves to be honest.

 

how would you differentiate between a person who says "ban my account i think i'm hacked" and "please SRB me i don't want to use the site for a while"

If they do that they're being an idiot. Lying to staff won't get you anywhere.

 

In that situation, why is a ban required? Just change password to gibberish and change email address + Sythe can add something like "kill all user sessions" if that's not already a thing for globals/admins - so the hacker is logged out and can't log back in.

Also how is a user getting hacked with 2FA as all market users, if not everybody, should have it enabled.

 

no what i'm saying is that if a person truly wanted to be SRB'd they could literally say "i think i'm hacked, pelase ban my account" and they would get their SRB and there would be no way to prove the claims

 

I'm saying, even in that situation why would a SRB be required? I literally just stated the alternative.

i'm not sure i'm just saying this is a simple loophole to SRB so getting rid of SRB wouldn't do anything towards people who truly wanted an SRB which is a problem

 

but they get permanently banned this way.

messaging a staff "i got hacked, ban me" is essentially an SRB

I predicted it would happen as soon as Richard mentioned the removal of SRBs a few weeks back, and I'm sure it will happen in the future. It will just be harder for them to re-gain access to their account, also if we find out they've lied they'll be warned for deliberately wasting a staff member's time.

 

I see what you mean. It's just hard to prove they lied though. And I thought regaining access to your account after you've been hacked is easy as long as you have a picture of a virus scan? I banned myself due to this around 2 days ago and was back on ezpz the next day.

 

oh my bad didn't know this. i see a lot of members like "mohtasaunique" that were banned for being hacked and they are pretty much banned forever until they come back. i'm not sure any of your mods actually implement this rule you have in your head.
