I prefer to be bitter and hate the change and DNT users. If they want to get upset about people mentioning the shit they've pulled and not fix what they broke as a result then nobody's going to care when they "fuck off again and go somewhere else." Richard wants to keep comparing this to the real world, i'm pretty sure after you've been convicted of a crime you're not treated the same way.

 

I miss our Skype calls.

 

I backspaced a comment about this but yeah the environment is very deadly, but I've got to say that's quite traumatic. I've had some recent losses... ones I won't talk about in a public forum. Are you still friends with drug users, though? Usually people cave in easily if they still have friends who do drugs.

What was it that got you to stop doing drugs, if you don't mind me asking? The situations above? When it comes to former potheads, I've usually managed to convince them easily but pills and heroin are a different ordeal.

Are you going to educate yourself on the fact that you still owe people money and make payment plans with them?

 

My staff position was just that - I was there to help the community in what ways I could. I always banned scammers like crazy, which might not have been the best thing to do. This website is a black market, I hope you realize that.

 

Then you're not really working for site betterment as much as you think, surely? Devil's advocate speaking.

The site is, if we don't get more people clicking and posting, ultimately.

So unless you're proposing a counter-suggestion or a better one (in a positive way in the suggestions section), or working to make the best of the update we do have - then what use is being bitter to anyone?

Basically Rich keeps claiming peer pressure will get them to refund. So hey, lets make their lives hard. In essence proving the system doesn't work.

 

I think positive peer pressure, yes. Not just hurdur pay up. Just puts people on the defensive and solves nothing.

 

That may be but BA is a whole different level, actual blackhat goes on over there. And as for Toil... don't get me started.

 

The betterment of the site would include undoing all of this shit, i've also suggested some things to go along with the idea of it in way of Repayment but it doesn't mean I like the idea in the slightest or feel they should be allowed back. Nothing's going to suddenly make me feel that this was a good idea because we all know it wasn't. The way to make the website more active and get more people "clicking and posting" would be to make it more appealing to other communities rather than those just related to Runescape, not bringing back the people who ruined the website and drove others away in the first place by stealing from them or otherwise ruining the experience. I've spoken to users victimized by some of the DNT users who were allowed to return, as well as other community members and staff members alike. A lot of people aren't happy and are thinking of leaving, those who are staying are constantly fighting with Richard and others depending on what side of this concept they believe in. Dividing the community and driving those away who haven't actually done anything wrong in name of allowing those to return who were forced to leave for a reason doesn't make sense.

 

Positivie peer pressure being a monthly repayment scheme? TTB could do with a nice holiday.

Ultimately, the thing I'm most bitter about is the fact that all these DNT users still have their ranks, the drama users I can understand them keeping their miniranks and other ranks (except donor rank) but people like DJW who are not interested in the market, at all, get to keep their ranks, they get to still be bum buddies with people infront of their scam victims (like TTB and DDIS) - At the end of the day it should be the scam victims choice as to whether or not the user can come back with a DNT rank, are we really wanting to lose those loyal members over the fact that everywhere they post the person who scammed them is still posting, free of all consequences?

 

I keep forgetting it's solely my responsibility to do this. I recall Jack Goff stating he had ideas he planned on suggesting after the Xenforo transition and i'm sure other community members have their own ideas as well. I am not a part of these other communities thus I do not know what is appealing to them. This does not negate the fact that I can notice a terrible idea when I see one and DNT is a terrible idea.

According to Richard it's his decision and his decision only, the victims do not get to chime in and supposedly being a DNT user is going to make people want to pay back despite the fact that the only 2 DNT users actually doing it were already doing it beforehand. The main argument is also that they aren't "free all of consequences" of course because they can't use a market most of them have no interest in using anyways.

 

Just about to bring this issue up with staff, feel free to quickly PM me your own ideas and I can include them.

Still not sure why me not knowing what is appealing to other communities and thus not knowing how to attract them makes it that I am unable to voice my displeasure with the current terrible ideas being implemented regardless of whether or not it's a better use of posts and time.
