Feels like it's only a matter of time before it happens in NYC (Where i live) on a subway train where people can't escape..

It's a scary time we're living in.

Islam already attacked NYC and killed 3000 people. Islam killing 50 people in Florida is chump change.

It's scary when people hardly shrug when 50 people's lives are ended early in a massacre.

 

It's on every US news channel atm so I don't think anyone is shrugging. Hell, even that singer getting shot was international news.

I think Islamic attacks and the murder of 50 people are quite serious, I don't shrug them off:

Guns were banned where the shooting took place, just like the Islamic shootings in Paris where guns are strictly banned.

Like Islamic attackers killing people with not only guns, but bombs and planes such as the Boston, Brussels, Paris, Israel, Turkey, and NYC attacks?

 

I live fairly close to Orlando. Unfortunately these are becoming a monthly routine.

 

It's a sad day when the worst shooting in US history occurs and instead of grieving, some people try to immediately start pointing fingers, inciting hatred, and voicing their bigotry. @Xier0 there are very very simple and straightforward facts and statistics that show radical Islamic terrorism is the cause of a sliver of murders that occur in the U.S. If you want to continue being ignorant and blame Islam for all of your problems.

Do you understand how (and I use this word in the most scholarly way possible) stupid it is to blame and stereotype 1.3 billion people for the actions of a few. I'm sure you want to see these facts. FBI reports 94% of terrorist attacks in U.S are conducted by non-Muslim. What's actually mind-boggling is that the same report found that there are more Jewish acts of terrorism than Islamic ones that occur in the U.S, but when was the last time you heard about that?

Now you offer some statistics from outside of the U.S. so I will too. Over the past 5 years there have been over 1,000 terrorist attacks in Europe. Damn, those Muslims sure are everywhere right? Actually, it's less than 2%.

You are the perfect example of the result of what Fox News and other right-wing media sources are doing to brainwash people into hating Islam. You know what, I'll give in to your notion that "all terrorists are Muslim". I want to do just that, what would happen if all terrorists were Muslim? Well that would mean that every single one of the 140,000 terrorist attacks worldwide since the '70s was committed by a Muslim. Here's the zinger: Even if all terrorist attacks were conducted by Muslims, those terrorists would represent less than 0.00009% of all Muslims worldwide.

Sometimes you just have to realize you're wrong in your pursuit to spread hatred and incite violence. To be quite honest, I don't blame you. I am obviously a Muslim and proud, maybe if I weren't then I would fall for the pathetic attempts of some news sources to sell papers and clicks on their sites by blaming Islam for everything because it clearly sells. But just do some research, just open your mind, and fight the urge to spread any more hatred in this godforsaken world.

 

No one ever claimed that Islamic terrorism made up a majority of murders in the United States.

Those are just statistics, they don't mean anything analytically. Correlation ≠ Causation. And the point I was trying to make is that the media oversensationalizes these killings (they are horrible things, I'm not drawing away from that fact) which make them seem so much more prevalent in the world than they actually are as disproven by the statistics I showed beforehand. If all the news did was cover Christian or Jewish terrorist attacks, then they would be the targets of all this hatred. Unfortunately, the execs don't want to incite hatred towards their own people.

Have you ever actually read the Quran or do you like pulling out snippet quotes? Have you ever studied any religious text? And I mean actually studied. A large majority of the proclamations of violence in the Quran are meant to state that the permission to fight and kill is being given regarding specific tribes already at war with the Muslims who have breached their peace agreements and have attacked the Muslims first.

But even if you don't buy that it doesn't matter because your statement is inherently flawed by assuming that all Muslims want to or actively "kill disbelievers and everyone who does not follow Islamic law". As I said before, even if all terrorists were Muslim that would make up 0.00009% of the Muslim population and you still can't blame them. Are you really forgetting or ignoring direct incites for violence in the Old Testament or things like the Christian Crusades killing nearly 2 million people in their conquest for Christianity?


Just admit that you are brainwashed by the media to hate Muslims and move on. I know it's useless to say that because you are obviously too stubborn to do so, because who in their right mind would admit they're wrong when provided the evidence that they are?

@Xier0 How can you quote bible verses stating that only islam incites violence against gays ect. There are Christian bible verses that are definitely definitely definitely questionable in terms of our society and the radical beliefs. I'm not going to spark a gigantic debate but religion in general doesn't seem like a step in the right direction for humanity.
