WU issue with R2Pleasent

    Hey Guys, I really regret having to make this thread but upon request of R2P I am. Now this is not the normal thing you see here in report a scammer, I know R2P is one of the most trust worthy traders on the internet, but him and I both need your resolve.

    The trade, I purchased 2.2Bi RS3GP via WU for 697.7 USD. I paid the full amount to the right person and chose the correct pick up method (At an agent's location).

    The back story, after completing the WU order it was initially put on hold, probably because the amount on the international nature. I called WU's number and verified the order and It was cleared. I then told R2P's people on Live chat that the hold was lifted and ready to be picked up. Then within 15 mins I received an automatic email from WU saying my order was picked up. Okay, so what happened next was that I naturally asked for my GP and R2P himself joined teh chat saying that there was an issue with the MTNC (WU's tracking number ) So i called WU to investigate. Took about an hour and talking to 3 different people to conclude what happened R2P's contact tried withdrawing the money online and not at an agent's location. So he'd ( the Chinese contact ) would have to go the bank in person with ID to claim the money. Okay so now 28-30 hours have passed and the guy finally gets to the bank and is told that he'll have to wait 3-5 business days to get the money.

    Now my issue is why should I not be given the GP I correctly paid for. I Did nothing wrong, the issue here lies with the Chinese contact not going to an agent's location. I told the person via live chat right after my initial phone call clearing the hold that he ( the contact ) had to go to a store with ID, the guy choose to try and do it online, which is why I believe there is the 3-5 Day hold.

    I have proof of all of this, chat logs from all the conversations with R2P's live support, email proof of me paying, but since R2P requested me to post without proof and he said he would agree with what I had to say, I did not include it in the post. IF you wish to see it, I can edit it in later. Also R2P, wanted me to do this so your decision is important, he wants to be able to go his company in China with this to pressure them, Im just hoping I can get my GP and some sleep.

    And Please R2P, please fill in anything I've forgotten, Its been a long 2 days, I have not been able to sleep since my initial purchase yesterday.

    I feel some sort of proof is needed I will just leave these two screenshots for now;

    R2P, since your worker has already tried withdrawing it and the money is sent would it not be guaranteed to be yours just within that 3-5 business day period?

    To expand on what my customer posted:

    We had the customer send the payment to http://www.sythe.org/members/359370-won_gold-o_0.html. They received it on our behalf because our agent in China, Anne, has been on leave the past week. We have done plenty of business with http://www.sythe.org/members/359370-won_gold-o_0.html in the past, and they have received WU before for us without issue.

    We gave WonGold's WU info to our customer, and he sent the WU online. Using the details we provided, we were able to verify that the transfer was available for pickup on WU's site. We then forwarded the MTCN + sender info to WOnGold. They replied shortly after saying the transfer was not found.

    However, the status on WU site is now "Picked Up". So it's very peculiar. I messaged them again explaining this, but their communication skills are quite poor. They said they'd need to go to their bank in person to resolve the problem. They needed 24h to do so. They did this today.

    According to WonGold the bank told them they need to wait 3-5 days to receive the payment. I'm unsure what this means; is the money on hold, is the money still just not showing up at all? It's impossible to tell due to their poor communication.

    I understand my customer's frustration. He has provided me with receipts that I believe show quite clearly that the money was sent, and match the info when checking transfer status online. These can be PM'ed to mods at their request.

    My thoughts exactly. Anyway, I believe R2P went off for the night, he hasn't responded in a bit on the live chat, i'm also heading off, will definitely check back tomorrow.

    From what you've said, I definitely think that you're entitled to said GP, and that it's the sellers fault for not picking up the funds the correct way.

    @Sellerman, Chinese people deposit WU into their banks. They can receive Money in Minutes, AKA Cash @ Agent online. There is no way to incorrectly deposit a WU.

    The issue here is that the payment appears to be flagged, and put on hold for 3-5 days.

    A WU customer service agent in North America does not know how WU works in China. The systems are very different between the two countries. In China, WU is done through the banks, not through agent locations. The banks have implemented the ability to receive WU payments online, so to attempt to collect a WU payment online in China is using the service exactly as it was intended. Anne has done over 100 WU payments in the past year without ever going in person to the bank.

    Furthermore, if the ruling is that I am to deliver the GP before receiving the go-ahead from WonGold, then this would mean WonGold is responsible for the fate of the payment. In my experience, the best thing to do when big payments get held up is to just wait. There can be a bunch of reasons why payments get flagged / slown down. Several of these reasons result in the money being returned to the sender. Due to that risk, it would seem a bit unwise to complete our end of the service to the customer while the money is still in limbo. The risk of rushing the transaction is a $700 loss to one party, and simply a longer wait time to the other party.

    R2P, said there's no wrong way to claim a WU, however for whatever reason I was told on the WU site + over the phone that they had to go to an agent and bring id. This part of our conversation is when I tell him what exactly is posted on the WU site. They did not follow the instructions. For whatever reason, WU required the person to bring ID, that was known from the initial purchase, how could the person show valid ID while claiming the money online..?

    In addition, R2P says the money is being held, but its 100% not by my bank, its gone through my bank, If it was being held by my bank I would have gotten a fraud call, WU Would have no been able to mark it as Picked up. None of which happened for whatever reason, we know why I believe that reason is, the Chinese bank is holding the money.

    I tell them once again, after freeing the initial hold on WU, that their contact had to go to a cash out location and bring ID.

    I honestly believe that if they did this the first time, and not tried to claim the money without ID via Online, there would be no hold on thus I am entitled to my GP. In addition their bank acknowledged my money is there, I paid for it, they are holding it for 3-5 days, probably due to the way in which it was initially claimed. Its not like the bank is saying they never got it.

    Okay, since the Chinese bank acknowledge the money and we have no reason of knowing what the Flag is I wanted to investigate my bank.

    Edit:
    I just got off the phone with my bank to check to see if it was Flagged on their end and it wasn't. We have no reason to suspect I will be refunded.

    I can try to get email documentation from my bank saying the transaction is flag free. But I still feel I am entitled to this GP that I rightfully paid for. Due to the status of my bank and the transnational status on WU ( Picked up ), the fact that the Chinese bank acknowledge my payment thus I fully believe the 3-5 day period burden should not be placed on me. When clearly they did not follow WU's instruction, however it may be different in China, in this case, I was told twice by WU that they had to bring ID to a cash location which I made very clear to R2P's customer representative on two different occasions. R2P mentions Anne being able to do this without a problem, but this WU transaction was not done with Anne, perhaps the WonGold's contact has a different type of restrictions on his account or something thats why WU told me online and over the phone that he needed a valid ID to claim. Also, the people at WU knew this was an international transaction.

    That is why I feel I should be paid out.

    I'm fine with going R2P's route in simply just waiting a few days for it to clear to reduce risk. I've requested a few other opinions however.

    There's too much risk here to give the gold now. It's unfortunate this all happened but I'm sure R2P can think of a way to compensate you for the trouble when this payment clears

    I agree with JG and video on this one. I realize it seems a bit unfair at the moment, but, as you said, R2P is an extraordinarily trustworthy trader and I am certain this is not a case of him trying to screw you out of your gold.

    I'd say give it till the end of the week, and if it's still not cleared up, we can try to sort something else out.

    This was never about whether or not it was a scam, it was about if I should have been paid out, but I understand your decision. We will keep you posted thank you for your time and anyone else who took the time to read this case.

    Yes I can confirm I have been paid on and fairly compensated for the delay. Within minutes of the charge changing status in my bank I had a PM from R2P telling me to get on Live Support. I am very happy this is sorted out, and we can all move on. Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this thread it was quite a frustrating situation for me.
