Why did you donate to sythe?

I see so many people with donations to their name, and am generally curious as to why you guys ended up donating. In a previous thread of mine, people were arguing how they don't really care about donations, and would rather look at vouches/post count/join date to consider someone as trusted. Since that is the case, why did you guys end up donating? Was there any specific benefit you got from it? Or maybe just a cool look?

 

Donating helped me grow on the site and establish myself within the market. When it boils down to it, Sythe is a platform that has allowed me to do many things with RuneScape that I would have never imagined possible a few years ago. While I'm doing what I can to give back in terms of time and dedication, money is another option.

 

Wow, so you must be really thankful seeing as you donated $500 to the site. Do you run a business here as well?

 

I'm considering donating around 25-50 USD but it's more so to help out sythe rather than pretend to be trusted. Donations keep sythe running

 

I'd imagine they make some profit off advertisement banners as well right? Hypothetically, if people were to stop donating, would the site really go down?

 

Doubt it but look at how many newcomers donate to this website hoping that someone will assume they are somehow trusted. People are never actually going to stop donating, maybe the people who have donated 200+ already but there will always be random newcomer scammers.

 

I donated because of the custom user title and the cool looking rank. I also donated because I made a decent amount of money off a service from this website so I figured I'd give back to them

 

I remember donating 25$ in one day for fun, I then realised that donating actually helps when selling things on this forum, ever since I've been trading a lot and it turned out to be really helpful. Not only that but it also shows my gratitude towards Sythe as it's a big part of my life now.

 

I donated to give back. I made $20,000-30,000 off sythe back when I had a gold shop, and I felt the necessity to give back to the site that made it possible.

 

For fun. I didn't want to donate since I don't really use the market, but I saw that they accepted donations of $5, which is almost nothing.

 

Was making a ton of money at the time when I got my $500 donor so I figured why the hell not. Also did it for more legitimacy etc I guess. Some people might say that they look at post counts + vouches etc, but still the new customers will most likely look at $Donor + Vouches. Because if you think logically about it. Why would someone scam forinstance 300M 07 or w/e if they are $500 donor, it will literally make a loss.

 

I donated because Video pressured me into it with the intent of sexual favors in return.

 

Because I was a staking addict and I needed to invest in something that had benefits knowing that my addiction meant I would soon lose everything I had, and I was right. Perks were pretty cool too.

I remember I saw a sythe admin begging for spare change on the street corner. Figured the least I could do was donate $5

 

Donated $100 to give myself a boost in the market. Donated to $200/$300 for the additional perks. Donated to $500 to support Sythe and give back for how much I've made.

Because I want to contribute and establish myself! But donating seems like a very complex issue!

 

Someone donated 5$ in my name, I was told it may have been Heads447. Then I had a bunch of BTC sitting around that I had no method of cashing out at the time so I was like i'm gonna donate (only had it from selling RSPS GP anyways.)... Then I had 50$ donor status and sold more GPs and was like oh, I guess i'll get 100$ donor..
