Smudge Tag

Figured learning how to smudge would help with further blending renders and all + I like the abstractness.

I do like the text more than on the last tag I made, but still not a huge fan of it. I know I've been given tips to just hold out on the text, but I do enjoy having it there. I think the tag as a whole is better than my previous one, now it's just figuring out what to do next.

I like it a lot, like a lot a lot. Still issues with text though like on your last sig. Instead of text overlay, I'd suggest blending the text into the graphic like you would a render. If that text were poking out one of the smudge strands or hiding behind one just a bit, with some blur to add a small distance effect, that would be fucking dope.

 

All I have to say is.. GET RID OF THE TEXT!!!

It's a nice piece. The text just really detracts from it though.

 

Yeah, text is really one of the worst things you can do to a signature if it's not in itself a typographical piece. As far as an abstract quality goes I would argue this would work good as a base layer to build an abstract on, but you're still lacking some of the basic foundations of a good tag. A solid focal, depth, flow around the piece, and effective lighting.

 

I'm liking the uncropped version, it gives more space in the beginning.

 

I have to agree with Gyzo, seems like it draws my attention more (not because of spacious-ness(?).

 

This looks really sick, I always seem people posting about how there graphics aren't good when in actuality it's amazing.

I tried messing with the text, but there was no spot I found where it would poke out of the clouds & still look good, but definitely will attempt to approach text with that manner of thinking. Quite often text is an afterthought that I just want to add in after the sig is already practically completed.

I am going to mess with the blur & see if I can create any cool distance effect with the text. I'll post if anything comes of it.

Yeah, text is certainly not my strong suite, but I really just like having them on my sigs tbh.

Yeah, no kidding and I've never really been good at typography works either tbh. As for the foundations, I'm attempting to learn them, I've looked at a few tutorials and am hoping to improve in said areas.
