On April 9, 2015 I attempted to sign in to my Skype account when I got home. I opened Skype and logged in only to be instantly logged back out. I wondered if something was up on Skype's end and decided to wait for a few minutes. I then restarted Skype and this time I was informed that my credentials didn't match up. I realized only then that something was up and that my Skype account had probably been hacked. In an attempt to bring the situation under control I immediately headed over to the only place people probably even know me from anymore which is my graphics marketplace thread. I stated what I thought was the situation in post #1385 on my thread hoping to keep people wary of the situation. I then proceeded to notify Skype of the problem by e-mailing them. After that, I decided there would be no trouble not even aware that my Sythe account had been compromised as well.
The next day I checked my e-mail to find out that my Skype account had been temporarily disabled. This was good news and I was happy until I came to Sythe to see that I was banned because someone had been scammed. I didn't know what to make of it. This was very unfortunate and the sick people that do things like these do exist. I still however, can not see how I am at fault for what happened. I was a moderator on this website before and saw people go through this process. Even then, I didn't understand the rule that made the person who was hacked pay back the person who was scammed. Now, that I am here on the other side it just completely baffles me how on Earth I could even be expected to refund the scammed. After all, this is like having your vehicle stolen and crashed into a store and then being asked to pay for the damaged merchandise.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
