No problem man, it took me so long to finally admit to myself it was having a significant and negative impact on my life. I'm still all for legalisation, but that is a different argument all together, if you ever need to speak to someone about the issue feel free to PM me man. All the best.

First: we as humans have the innate ability to moderate our consumption of things. I smoke probably once every few months when I'm at parties and whatnot, and occasionally I'll buy a nug or two for later. It hasn't affected my life whatsoever apart from the good times I've had at parties where I'm usually the biggest introvert.

Please don't put words in to peoples' mouths. Caffeine and alcohol overconsumption has affected me more than weed ever has or ever will. I'm not too scared to admit it's affecting my life.

Second: you don't actually have to smoke it. Vapourising and baking it in to food is always an option.

My first hit was while I was staying at my brother's flat once when I was 13-14 he offered me a drag it was fine, I ended up smoking half of the spliff and it sent me to sleep.

Now 17, the only time I smoke it is when I'm at a party or at my brother's.

    Don't regret it at all.

Actually, studies have shown Marijuana actually isn't overly bad for you and smoking is not the only way to consume it. You can easily vape (way better for you), or eat edibles. Also, recent study found that Marijuana has been shown to actually help fight lung cancer due to when inhaling individuals often hold the inhale as long as possible (opposed to cigarette smoking where you're basically just passing tar through your lungs.)

The whole "you can't miss something you never tried" argument may work if you've never actually heard of what you're missing. If you have no idea it exists, of course you can't miss it. Now, if you're aware it exists (ex: not doing sociable things while at college and just sitting indoors at all times), you're definitely missing out.

Even if someone likes it, regulate how much you smoke. Weed is not something that needs to change your entire life.

Going to have to call bullshit on this one. Now, I could totally be wrong, but you're claiming to having spent 10's of thousands on weed, yet can't smoke in your own house (which alludes to living with your parents.) Spending even $10k on weed is ridiculous, in expensive parts of the U.S. you can get a gram for $20-$25 and 8th for $60. How long did you smoke for? Because to spend that amount, you're looking at a decade (for like $42-48k) smoking nearly an ounce a month which is a ton.

Everything can harm your life. Driving, eating, playing video games, your cell phone, weed, alcohol, tobacco, you name it. You just said you're digging a hole of excuse. Don't ask for input on what you should do when it's obvious your decision is made.

Apparently you're only asking for input that correlates with what you already want/plan on doing (well, not doing.)

Again, looking for someone to provide some input to corroborates what you already think/your preconceived notions. "Just to scared to admit." Oh fuck off, you can smoke weed and be a well-functioning member of society. Weed in no way has to negatively effect your life.

I would still smoke weed. I smoke a little bit once a week to calm my nerves.

Smoking is bad for you. It doesn't matter what it is you're still putting smoke through your mouth into your lungs. For a short-term effect, I had more frequent and longer sore throats. I don't think there are any long term, convincing studies, on the health effects of marijuana, but if there are, feel free to share. I know there's vapes and edibles, but they're not nearly as strong as smoking, unless you have The Volcano, maybe, but it's not portable. And if the bud isn't yours and someone offers a joint I doubt a smoker is going to turn it down.

The missing argument does work. By the definition of "miss" you had to have had it in the first place.

You're right weed doesn't have to change your entire life, but for some people it does. Most of the people that I smoked had weed effect their lives far worse then it effected me. If you smoke in moderation like once a week or so I see nothing wrong with that. The truth is some people can use in moderation and some can't. Just like alcohol. The majority of people drink moderately, but there's alcoholics that shouldn't drink at all. With weed a lot of it has to do with the people you're around.

You don't know how much I smoked. 4 blunts was a mild day. I bought quarter pounds for about $900 every month for over a year. Before that I would buy around 2 oz a month. Granted, I usually sold the majority of it. Even by your estimation it's 10s of thousand for 5 years of smoking.

Raydabae is making good a valid points, so back off. You don't think there's jobs that drug test? Or do you think smoking is worth more then getting a good job? Of course anything can hurt you, but smoking isn't necessary, and it has negatives effects.

If I could go back I would prob wait until I was around 16-17 had my first smoke at 14 and took the piss a bit smoking everyday back then wasnt really good for a developing brain lol but you shouldnt worry about being addicted to it, it is quite addictive if you are in a certain state of mind e.g. depressed, I have just recently beat a year long addiction to the drug were I was smoking 2 grams a day (basically ruined my bank account seeing as its £15 a g here) so you do have to be safe with it but as long as you keep it 2 the weekends and remember it is a drug you'll be fine, now go enjoy spring break

I smoke to combat depression ive seen what pharmaceuticals do, but like mentioned its about control over yourself. I smoked cigs for years i quite cold turkey havent had a cig in 2 years =P. Marijuana is good for alot of things, but over indulgence is never a good thing even with healthy things.

Weed itself is not harming your life in any of these situations, it is other people who choose to harm you because of it.

I don't think I'd change anything. I've only smoked a few times and it's never done me any harm.

If you did it because of peer pressure, then that's just dumb..
I was never pressured to it, i was just curious and always wanted to try it

Wasn't pressured into it, but without thinking to far back with "what ifs", my quality of life would be a lot better.

Like others said before me, don't fall for peer pressure. I would make so many different decisions in my life differently knowing now what I didn't know in high school.

As for the topic, weed, yes try it.
Don't take this as peer pressure, I am a huge pothead (don't care if you think i'm a loser) and would recommend anybody above age 16 to try it at least once. Either you will like it or you won't. The worst that could happen is you having a panic attack which does suck but probably won't happen.

As for me, weed has completely changed my life. I'm 23 now and was 14 when I started smoking. For me, my life started at age 14. I was depressed and shy as well as almost anorexic (genetics, I ate/eat way too much for my size) which made me more insecure, but weed man... Changed my life for the better. Now the only reason I smoke is to deal with these things, and partial addiction (I must admit), but you can get addicted to anything. Weed is not physically addictive at all. For example if my boss decided to double my pay if I could pass a drug test I would quit smoking in a heartbeat. I drink/smoke weed and it is preposterous that alcohol is legal and weed is not. And as for the price, I spend about 250$~ a month on weed and I smoke a lot so even if you have a minimum-wage part time job it's a pretty affordable hobby.

But hey, only you can decide what's right for you. I guarantee if you do it once you'll know how you feel about it with no negative consequences besides maybe someone calling you a pussy if you have a panic attack. And i'd instantly punch the person who say's that in the throat.

I kind of regret starting and kind of don't. I guess i should've quit earlier - eventually the high wasn't there anymore and i felt more paranoid than relaxed. But the starting days were fun as hell. We had a dozen people chilling, laughing and eating. Every weekend. And the SEX - man, doing that while stoned is the best.

Guess if i'm ever going to get high again, it's with my girlfriend just before we hit the sheets for lé sexytime.
