Dealing with PayPal - How to get a response

Asking on behalf of a friend...

Long story ill try keep it short.

First, Paypal suspended friends account for suspicious activity. Friend called Paypal they advised them that there was multiply logins from other countrys etc etc and said the account was hacked.. They had to verify the account again, friend did verification and everything and account was ususpended..

After that was done they went through there paypal account checking everything. When they got to the recurring payments on the account they tried to remove all those as the hacker had set up reocurring payments to some other websites. Friend couldnt remove the payments so called and emailed paypal. Paypal confirmed they would manually remove them all and everything was sorted.

A couple days later, friend checked there bank account, and all there money was gone, payments had been made to those reocurring payment websites above. They lost all there money and have huge bank fees because of it. Friend cancelled credit card linked to paypal but couldnt remove bank account linked, so they called paypal to do it. Paypal agreed than they disputed the transactions.They won as there was proof on file that Paypal agreed to manually remove all the reocurring payments.

Than friend checks paypal account and still cant remove the bank account from the account and the same reocurring payments are still on the account,

Need advice, how can friend get paypal to remove the bank account and those reocurring payments. They say they will do it but they havent done anything. They also wont close the account cause they said it is still being verified. Friend doesnt want to have to close there bank account as they have been with the same bank for over 20 years. What are your thoughts on this situation?

 

Sounds like you just need to keep pestering paypal until they're sure it won't happen again. Don't know what else to tell you :/. Can try emailing them if calling doesn't work. Seems like this should be resolved quickly given that they acknowledged that you weren't the one intending to make the recurring payments..

 

keep asking to talk to anyone within management or a supervisor

 

My advice with PayPal is, and it's sad to say but you need to continue to get angry and ask to go higher on the chain of command. PayPal is shit, and that's plain and simple. You need to call them and yell about the money lost and how you've been dealing with this bullshit for far too long.

Also, call your bank account and say that those purchases were fraud based and you shouldn't be charged for them

 

thats why i switched into skrill, never had any issues with them and used for over a year now, great customer support and everything

keep phoning them until a solution is offered
