Player Mod?

There are quite a few members here who have a pmod account or have owned one at one time. Also a few sales.

 

I am a player mod(Its inactive now but I can claim it back whenever I want) Ive been one since 2009. There are no really benefits from it. Other than being able to access a player mod forum.

 

I've never been either but I have heard of accounts being sold for $1k-$2k. I don't understand why people would want to spend that much on an account that's not theres (breaking a rule that isn't too noticeable but can be caught) but that is a player mod account (very easy to be noticed and can be caught easily). Theres just no point in it for me.

But the income from doing 'jobs' for people sounds fun.

 

All pmods are corrupt. And its handed out randomly.

To be honest, don't aim to get it and never expect it. Pmod isn't something that good, I mean okay, if you want attention and such,go ahead try for it but it's really not worth it,trust me been there done that.
The only benefit are the Forums and the 48hour mute. They've also changed the ToS on when you can mute people for 48hours - so it needs to be a really offense before YOU can take any action as a Pmod. Anyways, Gl on it if you go for it

 

In the PMOD application you give address and name and what not, so Pmods who sell their account are probably fkd

 

not really, they can inform jagex they are moving, Jagex cant expect them to live in the same house forever. or Change ISP..

 

Being a p mod brings its own burdens as well as benefits imho, was one back in 09 and lost it around '12 as i just coulden't do with not trolling haha

 

As darkest dream said, they make their money from mutes.

It's less profitable these days but back when dicing and flower games were going strong pmods were paid up to 50m~/$25~ per mute, maybe more. That sounds crazy but clans like dragon dyce capitalized on pmods and could put an opposing dicing clan out of business by muting the adverts.

I'm probably missing something but the only way a pmod could sell mutes now is to gp transfer clans who want to silence their opposition, which is a significantly smaller market.

 

I'd love to be a PMOD but probably never going to happen.
