Honestly they just eco reset them to one ring per person. If you bought 100k of them that were glitched it was your own damn fault. The reset is worth the few people that were legitimately stocking them being pissed off :/

Most game breaking glitches make it here. 99 in seconds? It makes it here. 100% win stakes? It makes it here. Duped gold? It makes it here. etc..

Just because you have a narrow classification of "major" is meaningless. If there is a glitch, there is a very high chance someone here is involved and talking about it.

 

If you don't consider staking glitches and money dupes major, you clearly don't know what you are saying.

 

I like that Jagex put out that statement and we now know why archer rings, of all things, were the item. It's pretty funny though, mostly because Jagex might not have noticed the problem and the guy could have slowly profited off the rings instead of flooding the market all at once. What a noob

 

A couple of the biggest glitchers use Sythe.

Word of advice to anyone who wants their account to remain safe: don't touch these things for the next couple of weeks. You're either going to get your account banned or the rings are going to be removed (and you won't receive compensation.)

Jagex moderators clarified the situation.
From now on you can trade any amount of Archer Rings with no risk of consequences whatsoever.
They removed most of the non-legitimate rings from the game, according to some Jagex mod.

so it wasnt a dupe, jagex have trialed wealth restoration for accounts that have been hacked. (similar to blizzard does with wow accounts) and one of the Jmods entered several million archer rings to get added to the account that was being wealth restored. There was no dupe, just one shitty jmod.

So essentially Jagex customer support fucked up big time, pretty funny. I don't think I've ever heard of this happening before.

 

Calm down mate, you're about to pop a blood vessel. I was right about this whole ordeal. "Major" glitches make headlines all over. There has always been staking glitches here and there, but a lot were never tremendous enough to be on the same stature of others.

I meant, name 3 events that caused havoc as much as the gold dupe.

 

Apparently, don't quote me, but I was talking in a skype chat and this is the story I was told from a J-mod. Someone was hacked and complained so they went to issue a refund (nice guys). It wasn't a big hack, something like 8.2m worth. So instead of adding 8.2m worth of coins, 8.2m archers rings were added to the characters bank... Talk about forgetting to have your morning coffee..

Lol wasn't a dupe, I was the person who told Fearriman, I had it confirmed by Jmods that yes that's actually what happened.

Somebody just fucked up massive. It's all safe now but yeah it was pretty bad.

It was Mod Tyran who it has been hinted towards lol.

 

Coins are 617 and Archer rings are 6733, I don't know how someone employed by jagex could mess that one up.

 

Can confirm it was an item restoration fuck up. :0
