I was selling some Fifa 14 virtuals on ebay this week and have had no problems. Today I sold 150$ worth to some user, within about 10 minutes of sending I get an unauthorised claim email.
I requested the ebay users address and phone number, which matches the paypal address and name Esther Graham. I phoned the guy about 10 times before he answered and was obviously mid-30s and couldn't keep a straight story. He had no idea and said he didn't own either account, despite the phone number being linked to him. after about 2 minutes of stuttery bullshit I ask his name, m-m-michael. right. Couldn't think of a second name. I eventually just left it because he didn't have anything else to say other than it wasn't him.
I did a 192.com search to find the paypal and ebay address was registered to a Michael Graham and ding ding ding Esther Graham. Sent him a text saying I had filed a fraud report because things weren't adding up. no reply.
It's so obviously him it hurts, the problem is he's filed an unauthorised PP claim and the account is under some fake name Amanda Joyce (Though it blatantly says his address is under Esther Graham and the address links up with the ebay address thus who I spoke to on the phone.
What are my options here? I've stated it's virtual, because well I don't have any sort of proof of sending if I don't. I've gave all the info linking them together which should prove it's not unauthorised. What can I do, and what's the likely outcome?
