what are y'alls opinion on bit coins? I find them a bit odd and wonder if they will really become a dominant currency

They are already a dominant currency, IMO.

This. However the Winklevoss twins that heavily invested in them before the boom has not sold a single bitcoin even after it broke the 4 digit. One of them compared it to past currency and they expect bitcoins to hit $30000 a pop or have a market cap of around 300-400 billion.

although bitcoins had been rising for a couple of weeks and hit 4 digits (before crashing) i still dislike the sound of investing in them.

They have become a dominant currency mostly (inmyopinion) due to the hidden wiki, where people buy/sell illegal materials like drugs(eg silkroad). They accept bitcoin payments because every transaction is untraceable.

people who want to risk investing in Bitcoins/Litecoins/Worldcoins/Protoshares etc can do whatever they want and i wish them goodluck, but in my opinion i'd prefer too invest in gold/silver for the simple fact that it's mostly raising in price and is a tangible material.

Well for those who mined in past and hold like me,no matter where bitcoin goes, still more than 1000% profit even the price crash at 500$ :)
I hope most of you start mine or buying litecoins from early 2012.
The funny part is,we was afraid to invest/believe in cryptos in the past, and now we are afraid how we can receive our big money :)

Good point Roary. Bitcoin is currently the dominant e-currency. But still it's the volatility that pressures the virtual coin market.

Yes. It is already a dominant digital currency, particularly in the online casino industry. And more businesses are now accepting bitcoin, which makes it a very possible currency of the future.

I think they are revolutionary and will change the fundamentals of how currency exchange will be performed.
