Awesome and well put together story! I'm sure his foster parents left him quite the bit of cash if he was willing to send 10k USD in an envelope :P

That's quite a lot considering that this is an online forum and I haven't met any of the admins yet. I spend money wisely.

Takes a real character to honor a $10,000 agreement over the net, you seem like a cool guy.

Cheers bro. I could scam him, but I did not. I have a lot of reputation in various gaming/business forums and in real life as well. That's not something I would do, I do not like to let people down.

I think as an entrepreneur, I try to gain more and more reputation in everything I do. You have to think about your values, about your future - everything.

Holy cow $10000? You sir, made a great profit from this game and are to be commended for it :P Good job bud!

I wonder how many bottles of half drinken wine I would have to sell for $10,000.

Great story, lots of trust.

Am I only the only who thinks it's kind of messed up that the guy who bought all the wines spent 10K on a game with the money his parents left him?

None of my business, but that's a lot of money to be spending on a game lol.

Yeah I believe it's messed up as well. He should of bought one to test if the gi was legit other than just sending 10k straight lol - a sucker is born every minute, lucky this guy didn't get scammed.

Oh, that wasn't really my point. I meant that his parents probably left him the money to use it on something more important, but he decided to spend it on virtual items instead.

But yeah, not judging or anything. I just think that 10K is too much money to be spent on a game.

Hmm well thats true as well. I mean if the game really means that much to him then he's free to do what he wants..its a free world :P

Is it the smartest thing to do? definitely not. Could of purchased a car with $10k, rather than a few pixels on a dying game.

A "dying" game. A bit off topic, but I joined Sythe in 2007, and people said it was a dying game then too.

Here we are, 7 years later. Runescape.com reports that there are 71,000+ players online.

Also, check this chart out: http://www.misplaceditems.com/2007online.php?avg

If you compare September-November 2013 to 2014, you'll notice a considerable increase in active live users. So in reality, the game is seeing considerable and measurable growth in the past year. The more you know!
