    Revenge

If you had the chance to get revenge on someone, in any way, who harmed you (physically, psychologically or collaterally) would you take the opportunity or not? If so, why?

    Revenge

Well personally I would take the chance anyone who intentionally tried to hurt me in any way, shape, form or fashion if I had the chance I would seek revenge on them but there is a certain method of revenge that I would use. No matter what mistakes are made because we are human but I would not go out of my way to affects someone else's integrity or harm them. The revenge that I am speaking of is perhaps prayer. Prayer for people not only sets your heart at ease but it lets God know that you have forgiven but have not forgot. It is still a type of revenge because you are giving a higher power control over the outcome of the situation. Now other ways of revenge such as hard or endangering someone else I think is not necessary because it only makes situations worse. Just my opinion some people do not believe in prayer so there revenge way may differ from mines. I would love to see what others have to say about this. Interesting TOPIC by the way.

Yes. It is often not the amount of money, or the amount of pain, or the amount of anything that was lost, it is usually just the thought of someone thinking they can fuck me over, fuck ME over, that drives me to become as violent as I possibly can, and put them on the ground as quickly as I possibly can.

For example, the beating would be just as bad if someone stole 5 bucks or 1,000 dollars from me.

I'd consider it, but more often then not I prefer peaceful methods. I don't have vengeful motives, I've got the basic belief that if someone does wrong to me the universe will sort them out. Taking things into my own hands would make for a messy situation. It also makes me feel like a better person, knowing I could have caused pain and suffering to someone who deserved it but chose to forgive them. It's a confidence booster, helps you get through the day/week. Call me a peace loving hippie, I'm not a fan of revenge.

I often say two wrongs don't make a right. Plus it's far more pleasing to watch the other person become frustrated when you're the bigger person in the situation.

Nope not worth my time or effort. Usually people who fuck you over or do bad things to you are scum bags. Usually they wont ever amount to much or do a lot in this world. Karma is enough to keep me at bay.

Some very good answers in here.

I had the chance once to get some revenge on someone but I couldn't do it. I just couldn't stoop to that level, no matter how hard I tried. I fantasized about what I would do if I got the chance and when I did get the chance I couldn't go through with it. I forgave but I didn't forget.

"An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind."

People seek revenge, because to them it feels like justice but it's really not...

Revenge is not really about getting the bad guy and restoring harmony to the world. Instead, it's is simply about causing harm to the bad guy IMO. There's no real justice, but rather a conscious decision to travel the low road.

I doubt it, but i'd have to be in a situation like that to see how I would really react. I'm usually a very forgiving person, you can fuck me over that of course i'll be upset, but i'll easily forget about it and move on. No need to stay in the past and just keep thinking of the problems you've had.

I honestly can't say what I would do in that situation. I have [for the most part] never been wronged by anyone. My family tends to lash out when we have been wronged..... But I hope that I can control myself should the need arise.

revenge at all. But what I ofcourse did do is press charges and request compensation.

No. Two wrongs don't make a right? Why would I want to lower myself to their level? and tbh.. People who bullied me when I was younger where younger too, I'm sure they aren't the same as they used to me. I've mature, they've matured its all in the past.

Everyone is saying two wrongs don't make a right, but what are you teaching the other party if they can continually do harm to others without consequence?

The fulfillment of revenge is unlike any other emotion. And it is incredible.
