    Chargeback question

So I was stupid enough to sell my old runescape account for paypal and the guy chargebacked the money after recieving the account.

Its only 50 eur, but still not really that fun.

Im very unfamiliar with paypal, and paypal disputes for that matter. Im sure he didnt send it as gift either. The money is currently held - and the dispute reason is "Non receipt"

Does anyone have any tips how to go on with this? I dont mind losing the dispute and my account. It would just be for the better that he didnt get back his money.

Shall I escalate it to a claim? Or Shall I actually send him an item - so I can give shipping number?

    Any help is appreciated.

Your best bet may be to call them and state your case. This is a bit better than Unauthorized Transactions.

I would wait to here from some more people though as my past experience has not been that great with Paypal.

Create a very very legal sounding ToS and submit it into the claim textbox for PayPal to read.

Directly after, make a phone call to PayPal saying you are representing a software company. If you need a company's name to use, you can use mine, just PM me for info. It would be good to list a website name as well, which you can get from me if you must. Your ToS would be that every software item is delivered via a mySQL and PHP database automatically and there are no bugs, and that there are no legal returns whatsoever, so his chargeback is "illegal" and breaking your ToS that he agreed to!

Don't do what the above said. It won't work out well, and they will see right through your façade.

Is your PayPal verified? Meaning, have you sent in your ID/bank statement to PayPal; and have they acknowledged that you are a legitimate user?

From what you've said it seems that said user has chargedback using his own PayPal account, meaning it's not an unauthorised one. In this scenario, it's easier to get your money back and win the dispute. I'm not 100% certain in which direction to proceed, however if you have proof you sold the account and what not, submit that to PayPal, aswell as give them a call and state your case.

Paypal doesn't support the sale of Virtual goods, call them and say it was for online gaming goods. I've had this happen before and the case was closed immediately, hopefully now you've learn the risks associated with Paypal!

You win all virtual items that are nonreceipt, call and say it was for online services. You win 100% of the time.

Just call them ignore what these other people are saying - you WILL win this case.
