    Im thinking about getting ubuntu just wondering if i have to uninstall windows before i do it. will it completely earase windows or will i have the chance to put it back cause my pc didnt come with a windows 7 cd.

    Ubuntu comes as a live CD, you can just run it off the cd to try it if you want, or you can install it alongside windows and choose which os when you boot. Or you can use wubi but dual booting is a better option.

    Ok now when i start it the light on my screen doesnt work so its just dark and cant see anything it says...anyone help?

    Yeah I guess dual boot if you want to keep other OS & files.
