I need your help.

I hate to skip the pleasantries, but that’s the bottom line: without help, I will not have the funds to save one of my girls. It’s as simple as that.

Her name is Stela. Maybe you met her at your church, have heard her story. When she was little, her father tried to kill her many times. He was an abusive, angry and mean drunk. For years, she and her brother hid under the bed when their father came home drunk. Other nights they ran away, sleeping in cold cars, in the cemetery, or on the streets.

Stela, who, by the grace of God survived this horrific childhood, then years in a terrible orphanage, came to Stella’s House after she aged-out. She is an amazing girl, a spiritual leader to all the new girls. She is so grateful to be at Stella’s House.

But today, she is a very, very sick girl.

Earlier this week, she was taken by ambulance to the hospital. She was crying and crying; the pain was so great. She has been in the hospital since Tuesday with gastritis, inflammation of the gallbladder, acute pancreatitis and gallbladder polyps.

For two days, she has been receiving antibiotics to fight the infections and has been hooked to an IV. Although she will be released tomorrow, she needs emergency surgery to restore her health.

My little Stela needs your help. If you have ever seen the hospitals in Moldova or talked to a doctor there, you’d understand why we must get her to the States! To risk her life getting surgery in Moldova is not an option. It’s not a risk that this dad is willing to take. She means too much to me, and to her sisters at Stella’s.

This comes at a time when we are stretched financially to the limits, and monthly giving drops this time of year. We have over 100 orphans to feed and care for.

I pray you will give, and give generously. I am asking God for a miracle, over and above what we need to get her here for her surgery.
