So how different is regular RS now?

After bots went down and the EoC stuff started my questing business kinda died off, I ended up having mems long enough to try the EoC beta but that didn't tell me much.

Now I'm bored and miss my RS questing but is there even a point in playing regular again? PvM was how I made any extra cash I needed for questing or mems but now the combat system seems so unnecessary that it'd be even more mind-numbing than before.

 

To tell you, RS EoC is all about gambling. It's what makes it still alive and running Lol until today. Anyway, you may want to try RS 07 for your questing service.

 

If you like questing then you should consider doing the new one, The World Wakes. Excellent quest and reward. The rest of the RS situation is really a matter of opinion, some like it and others don't.

 

Eh read a little about the new quest, and I could get absolutely everything from it so I do wanna try it, but I don't wanna buy mems just to do one quest then have it be months before any new GM quest comes out and be bored out of my mind because I can't stand the combat system. I guess what I really want to know about EoC is it really necessary for me to try and spam skills or would I just be fine only half paying attention like I could with the old system .

I think I'd like 07 servers more, plenty of quests to redo since they're reset right? I just don't wanna end up getting screwed over by liking the 07 servers then in a month fagex tacks on an extra $5 a month price to play on them even though they wouldn't be doing any 'new' work.

 

How much have you played with the new combat system?

Everyone says they hate it and bluh bluh bluh. But most of them only test it for 2 mins and are like 'WTF, runescape with abilities that i have to spend time clicking?!'.

They dislike that the game is no longer a afk-fest. The changes are great IMO. Gives you something to do when playing, other than ending up staring at the TV, looking back and thinking 'Why am i in lummy naked?'.

TL;DR: - Extensively test the combat system.

 

But how is clicking on abilities going to entertain me? I like the hotkey bar, thats long overdue just for convenience, but you'll just end up spamming the same exact abilities over and over. You'll still be glancing over at a tv waiting for a recharge time to finish or for you to build up enough aggro, ap points, w/e they're calling it. It seems like a slight inconvenience instead of an engaging necessity like any other mmo with abilities.

If I am missing something please feel free to shove it in my face and tell me to shut up but thats all I see .

Due to such complaints from the new EoC combat system, this is the reason why they had implemented the skill called 'Momentum'. Jagex claim that once this type of particular skill has been activated, your damages will be increased wherein it's like you are fighting the same way as the old method. This means that you just simply click on the monster and that's it, wait for it until it dies.

The only problem that affects most players of RS are the PVP's because you can't tell them that they only have to use momentum. So there they are at the old 07 for the purpose of doing PVP.

 

I guess thats somewhat of a compromise, though after looking at the ability one has to wonder why you have to have 100% and why it only lasts 20 mins. It'd be a lot easier to shut people like me up if they just had a toggle button like they do for everything else lulz.

 

Momentum is good for range/magic training, but bad for melee, so you do have that option if you want easyscape.

 

I think if you play around with it you'll grow to like it.

Easier for me as after I quit RS I went to wow, so coming back to Runescape and then a month later getting the update wasn't such a bad thing for me. Brought a welcome change to my much loved game.

 

I bet I'd get used to it after awhile too, I just don't want to . Especially if 07 stays free, it'd be weird switching between the two. I guess I'll give it a go for a month, maybe end up dying trying to do the newest quest, even so I really do wanna try 07 servers, really do hope those stay free.

 

07 Servers are going to be included in normal membership for the next 6 months with no extra charge, then a charge will only come in if the playerbase dies down.

Botting Still Works?

 

Well at the moment 07 rs is unbearable, even then I had a reasonably good account and that was before I even botted. I could get back into playing it but they need to fix server lag and change the run energy, gawd we're spoiled now with how run energy is on the regular servers. Fighting is impossible when it keeps lagging for 5-10 second periods and questing would suck when run energy is gone in 5 seconds and takes forever to get back.

EoC is 'ok' now that I've played with it a bit though from the quest battle I just had I think it destroyed boss fights. Fighting the wolf matriarch for the second time and all I did was melee attack and use a tiny bit of food, before EoC my other account took so much damage from that it was impossible to do without ranging it.

I think that 07 will remain as it is as it was a request since I read somewhere from the official community of RS requesting this part of the game to be changed. But what happens is that they flamed the member requesting it telling that this will make the game easier which leads into similar mistake done on the EoC. Thus, if you want better running energy then you have to stick with the EoC.

Anyway, it's nice to know that you are beginning to like EoC. Since you are now underestimating those wolves, you have to know that there are new tougher monsters around the you can engage for an awesome battle. If you really are confident enough with your combat skill then there are plenty of bosses around which are quite impossible to solo.
