PayPal Donations

I expect this is probably been bugged to staff at some point. But is there any possible shot of it being brought back? I think it'd be kind of counter-productive to use my PayPal money, to be transferred to RSGP, only to probably be turned into Online-Currency again. I appreciate feedback from anyone on this issue. Thanks.

 

You can donate via PP after you first donate through another method.

So just quickly by like 15m or whatever off a gold seller, give it to tbt or someone, get that $5 rank, then donate with PayPal to your hearts content.

 

A few people hold Sythe bonds and offer this I believe, go to the donation center but you can not donate directly to Sythe if it is your first donation sadly.

Just ask anyone to donate for you. Doesn't need to be a bond holder.

 

I have donated for 2-3 other people via paypal before.

Not to sound like an ass or anything, but shouldn't this be in the suggestions section?

OT: Yeah you have to be atleast a 5+ donor before the PP option becomes available, I believe with the PP option its instant right? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but you should get any new perks (If you donated enough) within minutes of sending the money.

 

I think the donation has to be approved and confirmed by Matthew first, not sure though.

 

PayPal donations are usually instant. The same for perks and such.

 

I still think its pretty absurd why one can't make their first donation via PayPal.

 

There's a limit because of chargebacks. Sure you can chargeback at $5 donor but most people aren't interested in spending something first to do a chargeback.

I think the first non-Paypal donation is to help cover chargeback fees if they arise. It also serves as a filter against scammers. Some may not be willing to risk the RSGP to have themselves banned before they're able to scam and/or donate more. While it may be an inconvenience, it's a one time sort of thing and overall benefits the website.

 

Gotta love the 10 year old mindsets that cause people to chargeback. Anyone know someone trustworthy to donate through paypal so I can get the $5 donor title?

 

Charge-backs are inevitable on Paypal. I highly doubt that new users will ever be able to donate through direct Paypal. As Nick said, they could easily just donate $200 and then scam another new user for more.

 

Most or all of the staff are donators. You could ask someone there if you wanted them to do it for you. Or an OMM or something. Either way it'd have to be someone who is already a donator. I could do it if you wanted to.

Plus, haven't people chargebacked in the past? I recall some banned users who had donated a load to the site and then been banned said they were going to chargeback.
