Well Richard seems to be checking suggestions more often so there is more of a chance this could happen.

Open up a Sythe store and sell things like T-shirts, wallets, bracelets, tote bags, etc.

Most of these can be made to order on sites like cafe press so you don't really have to have any initial investments. They wouldn't be exploding with popularity, but there are those few people who would buy them so it's some easy advertising.

Maybe I misread but who would be making these? members on sythe or like another company?

Also maybe there can be some sort of rank like, "I bought a Sythe.org T-Shirt" or something or like a badge with a little T-Shirt on it. Every one sold would of course help the site.

I don't think many people would be up for being up charged for a shirt or whatever when they could get a replica made themselves from a t shirt designer or even order it themselves from a website.

Also shipping and handling on small things like this would be a pain, confirming orders, confirming deliveries, arguing disputes, etc. I just don't see it being worthwhile for the maybe 10 people who would buy anything if even that many.

This has been suggested and denied before.

Because no one wanted to make shirts or whatever. If you make them to order on cafe press no one even has to hold any. You get the order, go on cafe press, make the tshirt and send to buyer.

It's easy marketing, and essentially free. If you ignore that you're insane.

You guys are missing the point. No one is sitting in a sweatshop making these shirts and storing them at their houses.

Someone makes an order, you go on cafepress, make the item in 3 minutes worth of time, send it out, and get the money. Its that easy.

If somebody really wants a sythe shirt they can get it made themselves, I don't know where you thought having 10 virgins world wide make a huge difference on the amount of people who will visit sythe.

I'm pretty sure even you wouldn't by a sythe t-shirt let alone wear it outside in public.

Right and if someone wants an Aeropastle shirt they'll just make it themselves too.

I didn't say it would have a big impact. I specifically said it wouldn't be hugely popular, but the small amount of free marketing that comes with it is worth it. There is no reason not to do it.

Just because something is free, doesn't make it a good idea.
Otherwise every company would be doing this.

Actually there would still be an investment needed, the money would most likely be sent via paypal because I really don't think anyone will send $10 via W/U, so that means they are still taking a risk accepting money, if somebody were to dispute their payment Sythe would essentially lose double the cost because $10 from the shirt + $10 for the amount he paid to send the shirt. Its a huge risk and can be very problematic and time consuming to manage. It is not a simple 3 minute process.

I'm sure if somebody really wanted to do this they could do it similar to investments where you can buy the stuff rather than donating but I don't even think they would be up for it.

What kind of logic is that? This is easy marketing, and frankly Sythe needs to try any kind of marketing it can right now.

There is a risk in any type of payment, and for anything you're buying. Think about it though; if someone is buying a tshirt because they think sythe is really that cool, than are they really going to chargeback that site they think is so awesome?

I know you all have your supreme sythe standards of awesomeness, but if you keep trying to shit on every possible option, sythe is just going to continue spiraling downward. It's basic marketing; just do it.

This suggestions just shit. When you have good suggestions they actually tend to be intelligent this just looks like you saw someone walking around in a future shop uniform and thought, "hey it might be cool to maybe see people walk around in sythe.org" t-shirts

Not everyone who joins thinks its awesome a person with a hacked paypal and a grudge against sythe can seriously fuck shit up. With your logic half the people who charge back their donations never would have if they donated because they thought sythe was cool.

This is a shit idea because it doesn't meet the high standards that are required to use up 5 minutes of someones time. I'd like someone with even a shred of marketing experience to give their opinion on this, because it's not hard to see how obvious something like this is. You have to start doing things like this, because adding and removing subsections is doing jack shit.

Sure and why don't we graffiti "Sythe.org" on the back of bus seats?

The market for the shirts is extremely minimal... I personally have never, ever visited a website because I saw it on someones shirt, nor do I know anybody that has.
The target market are online traders or general forum users, which spend a lot of time indoors, away from outside T-shirt wearers.
The people who would actually buy the T-shirt would be complete nerds (no offence) so the likely hood of them actually going outside is drastically reduced.
Unless you can get someone famous to wear a Sythe T-shirt nobody will take any notice what so ever...

Not to mention the fact that this has already been tried before, more than once.. It has failed every time. We learn from out mistakes and making Sythe T-shirts has shown to be a mistake.

What looks better one random member selling home made shirts, or an official Sythe endorsed store with an official page and actual shop looking set up that can stay up permanently and not have to be constantly bumped, etc.

When something fails, you figure out how to do it better.
