    Thanks, kind of answer I was looking for. I've tried Linux but the apps I needed they didn't have or outdated, was a while ago so might give it a try again.

    I highly recommend either Ubuntu which is the biggest linux desktop environment or Linux Mint which is based on ubuntu/debian. Linux Mint the fastest growing at the moment, it has great community support.

    Linux?

    Because it is free. I can do what I want with it. It has far better development tools. The command line is far superior to windows. It is lighter and faster.
