Well, Representing the AFC I was originally going to go with New England but after sundays loss to the Cardinals it makes me think otherwise, Let's be real for a minute if that fumble never happened Patriots would have not even been in position to win that game. On the flip side of that the cardinals actually have a pretty sound defence. But I feel like teams will attempt to copy cat what the cardinals did, on the flip side of that even though Tom Brady had a rough day there is only so much you can do to stop one of the greatest qb's ever. But, I really feel now that if Joe Flacco can step up that Baltimore really has a shot to go the distance. As for the nfc (I am a bears fan) obviously you want to root for your home team to make it, but I am not nieve and aware that we have many problems at the offensive line postion while I believe that we can go deep into the playoffs I still believe san fran is the team to beat in the nfc. They are solid on defence, Alex Smith is finally maturing into the number one draft pick he was suppose to be. Quite honestly greenbay even though they won the game against the bears still did not play a good game... both of the games green bay has played there offense has looked stuck in a root. There defence is extremely injury pron as well. So basically AFC-Ravens NFC- San Fran

The only problem with the inability to throw the long ball, or being to scared to is that if they are down in the 4th quarter little check downs to a rb won't cut it in the 2 minute drill.

Ya I do agree that San Fran seems like NFC champions but I'm skeptical about Alex Smith still.

Yeah exactly. I bet if the Jaguars just played defense like this they would have won: Safety in backfield in zone, 5 guys playing zone at around 5,10 yard lines, 4 lineman rushing and a qb spy incase of running plays. Honestly this play would have a good chance to negate every play that Houston made.

He isn't scared to throw long passes, he just didn't because we had a decent lead by the second quarter. Why do you need to throw bombs if you have a comfortable lead? You don't, you throw short passes and run a lot to avoid turnovers. Schaub is a great pressure QB (our former 3rd string, now 2nd string, TJ Yates is better, he was the QB that brought us to our first ever playoffs, and won our first ever playoff game in Texans history.) Schaub can throw the bombs if he has too. Our defense is just so strong that we don't end up being in these 4th quarter 2 minute drills like you said.

    Thanks,
    Anet390/Andrew

Honestly, The Texans are a sound team just don't think they are there yet. They def need more dep at the WR postion and a few other postions at that.. Another year or two with FA's and they will be there.

Disagree. If we are going to go to the superbowl any year, its this year. Why? Well firstly, no major players are injured. This is a HUGE thing for us Texan's fans, all last year we suffered many injuries. From Andre Johnson to Arian Foster we had injuries every week. For the last 3 weeks we were using our 3rd string (now 2nd) QB, TJ Yates. Yates played VERY VERY well, but was not experienced enough to make game winning decisions. A 3rd string QB won us our first ever playoff game, imagen now what Schaub could do. Secondly, our defence is locked in. After losing Mario Williams, the Texans quickly adjusted our defense to work without him. Honestly, I think our defense is better without Mario Williams. We have all the key players we need, Brian Cushing is there to play rough. JJ Watt (Rookie last yr) knocks an average of 1 pass down a game and is one of few D-lineman with a TD (pick 6) on their stats. James Casey penetrates the Offensive Lineman with huge amounts of force and is always ready to tackle any RB in his sight. Antonio "The Ninja" Smith is always there to get sacks. His motto is "Get sacks, Get stacks". Jonathan Joseph (Pro-Bowler las yr) is great at defending any WR and is not scared to get dirty. Thirdly, our offense is stacked and ready. Schaub is a good QB, but if he does get injured, we have TJ Yates who is a good (and now more experienced) QB. Arian Foster (#1 RB in the League for 2 yrs) may get injured again, but that's ok, we have Tate who makes up the "2" part of the best 1,2 RB combo in the NFL. Even if Tate gets hurt, Forsett has been hauling ass the few times we put him in, he is basically the "3" in the best 1,2,3 RB Combo in the league. Andre Johnson (arguably one of the best WR in the league) has good backups if he needs them, we could throw in Holliday (our returner) who was accepted to be in the olympics for running, but declined because he wanted to train for Football. Holliday ran 2 TD returns during preseason, he isn't a rookie, but this season is his first NFL season, he was out all last year (rookie yr) due to a thumb injury. He is a 5'6 Sprint Runner from LSU and has very good skills. Brian Cushing is backed up by the new rookie, Mister Alexander (yes Mister is his name), during preseason Mister was playing like there was no tomorrow. Casey gets injured? No problem, we have our first round draft pick Whitney Mercilus to come in and save the day. With 3.5 sacks during preseason, he is on fire! Lastly, we have players that will be leaving soon. Tate has 1 more year left on his contract. Once his contract runs out Texans won't be able to afford him as a 2nd string running back, some other team will pick him up and use him as their first. Other good players might be heading elsewhere in seasons ahead as well..

All I can say is... THIS IS OUR YEAR.

    Thanks,
    Anet390/Andrew

You can't even say no major injuries yet because it's only week 3 and honestly there are better teams then the texans in the Afc ( my team is in the nfc so no basis one way or another) Ravens Pats and maybe even pits but def RAvens and the pats are still better then Houston even if tom brady had a bad week because matt schaub is no tom brady

I'm hoping and praying that RG3 can bring the Redskins back to the glory days and to the Superbowl. Pretty outlandish, but based off his first few games he's doing awesome and really showing some promise.

You don't need to throw bombs but any semi decent defense would have adjusted and be a decent threat in taking some of his passes to the house. You need some variation in your throws, also if a player is wide open down the field, you don't go for the checkdown. I couldn't see if people were open down the field because of the game camera but on some of the plays it must have been a viable option. I can't comment on TJ Yates as I've never seen him play. Your defense isn't impenetrable also.

This is very true. There are still 14 weeks for your starters to get injured, someone will get injured. Also Anet, you don't need to list all of your players and how wonderful they are. I could list any team and using some literary skills describe how even their worst player is a huge asset to the team. Basically though you need to not be so damn stubborn haha. There are imperfections to any team, I calmly admit them about the Patriots and there are several imperfections to the Texans also, you just can't admit it though. Also return people like Holliday often don't get used in the starting line up that much. He may have speed but outside of Madden, if you don't know how to make cuts etc speed is useless. This is shown well in the Patriots, they've not really ever had a deep threat since Randy Moss left (I think Brandon Lloyd is probably a bit too slow), but they get decent passing yards each game. It's not due to Tom Brady 100% either, remember Matt Cassel? He's the joker who leads the Chiefs into the gutter year after year. He started when Tom Brady was injured for the Patriots and was relatively productive.

Yeah it would be cool, I can envision him doing some great things for the redskins but not in his rookie year. He's really great but I think the redskins have too many depth issues to make it to the superbowl yet. Perhaps in two years I could imagine them being true contenders.

I never said our team is perfect. I know every team has flaws. But I am just stating the good things about my team. You may feel free to state the bads about the Texans, but me being a fan, I will not do so. I will admit that we do have flaws though. You act as if I'm just saying the Texans are good cause I am there fan. Yes, this is a factor, but honestly, even with the negatives of the Texans, I still think we will win the super-bowl un biasedly.

As for Holliday, this guy can make cuts all day long. Like I said, he ran 2 returns in for a touchdown and a 40 yr return during preseason. During regular season he is still averaging 25-30 yrds each return. I can't see him as a running back though, he has the speed and cuts, but does not have the power to get through a large group of defenders. He is a pretty small (and short) guy, he's like 5'6". He is going to be one of the best returners alive, no doubt. Anyway, GTG so I'll just stop here.

    Thanks,
    Anet390/Andrew

It's not saying your being down on your team by telling the truth. For example my team is the bears, But our offensive line is trash. Does that mean that I don't want them in the superbowl? No it means I am realistic and know that we need to clean that up you should be the same with the texans matt schaub is not a top 5 qb and you guys lack depth.

Yeah that's exactly what I mean. I'll re-enact a glossy description of the Patriots.

The patriots are going to win the superbowl this year as they have Tom Brady and Tom Brady is the best Quarterback ever to have lived because he has the record for most Touchdowns in a regular season. The Patriots are so awesome also because they have the best receiver skill set in the league with Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd, Gronkowski, Hernandez while Julian Edelman is coming into his own and becoming a Wes Welker 2.0. Matthew Slater is absolutely awesome on special teams covering punts. Stevan Ridley is destroying the running game and next year Jeff Demps will do so aswell. As always on defense they have Vince Wilfork, Jerod Mayo, Devin McCourty and Patrick Chung who are always productive. Our draft picks are awesome also with numerous tackles, sacks and forcing turnovers and interceptions etc. We also have great depth on defense.

Reality: Tom Brady past his prime. Hernandez is injured currently. Julian Edelman inexperienced currently at wide receiver. Jeff Demps seems injury prone and may cause a lot of fumbles. The patriots lack depth in the secondary on defense and their offensive line is struggling.

Just because a fan doesn't mean you can't be realistic.

Lol. That definitely does not make your team a superbowl contender. Even though you can't reply, half of the things you mentioned was during the preseason. Andre hasn't caught for like over 100 yards. It's also laughable that you think Yates will take over and bring your team to the superbowl.
All I can say is get real bud.

Lol, sad too, I liked them.

    Minnesota all the way!

Really though, the only half decent teams in the NFL right now are the Giants and the Falcons.
