How did you find out about runescape?

Im just curious
because I noticed I dont ever see runescape promoted(no commercials,ads,etc

I found out about rs by a fluke on another multiplayer game forum.

Ever since then ive been addicted

My cousin showed me it. He was like 6 years old at the time I didn't like it , I told him why don't you install GTA San Andreas or other install-required games, then he told me to just walk straight to bank, I asked him why windows are green in varrock, then I created my own account and started playing RS.
Now, after 4.5 years I'm 2493 total with all 99s.

 

My brother went to a Science center and they showed them the game there and he told me about it.
Been playing for many years after that, lol

I heard a friend in primary school talking to someone about it, later that evening I asked him on msn what it was and he directed me to miniclip.

When I first signed up and done tutorial islands I couldn't even move the camera angle so I could see properly haha!

 

I searched in google. "Club penguin sucks dick! Where can I kill?!?!" Then found this, lol.

used to play internet games instead of doing class works in school... found Runescape in a site called "Miniclip" lol

 

I saw someone playing it at the the local library (around 2002 I think). Been playing ever since then up until a few months ago :x

 

My cousin played it. We were talking about "Age of Empires", and he logged into Rs and showed me his lvl 32 account with full mithril. I saw people fighting each other at Lumby, and he said "See those guys with the pointy hats on their heads, they're rich". After that I played longer than all my friends besides one. The updates is what killed it for me though.

 

I went to a friend's house and saw him playing on the computer while I was watching TV and waiting for another friend of us to come over. I asked him what the fuck that was and he explained to me that it was an online game and he played with other friends. I did not pay attention to it but the name of the game (Runescape) did not erase from my mind. So one rainy day I was alone and bored at home and decided to turn on the computer and play some random internet game (like those silly games) and I remembered the game that my friend was playing that day. I went to the page and created my account which was scammed after a time -_-. It was pretty complex at the beginning for me since nobody fully explained the game to me and I could not comprehend what was the point of working on all those skills. After a week or so, I got more into it and noticed that it was very addicting. I got scammed several times and lost many of my own accounts :-( but now I am almost a maxed player on the game and have been playing it since 2006. End of the story

 

In 3rd grade, some of the neighborhood kids on my school bus were casting magic spells and they were making a lot of noise doing it, so I asked them what they were doing. They responded that they were acting out runescape, and then they explained to me what runescape is. The next day, they came over, so I started an account

 

Friends in Elementary talked about it, they also talked about getting full Mithril and feeling cool. I tried it, I thought Tutorial Island was the game, quit, came back started playing it and I became better than everyone in my Elementary. They all eventually quit besides a select few.

 

On the third grade we used to play games instead of studying in computer lessons, teacher was like 90% of the time outside of the class. I heard this weird sound coming out from my mate's computer, it was the song that you hear at lumbridge. I asked him what hes doing and he told me he is playing runescape, and killing cows to train atm. I started my own account once I got home and damn, that shit was so addicting!

Playing since the end of 2002, means almost 10 years

 

I found out about RuneScape from one of my bestfriends back in 2004. He found out about it from Miniclip.com. They promote RS on there.

 

Played for a second in primary school. Got hooked on and off throughout highschool

Back in 2005 (I was in grade four at the time, 10 years old) one of my school friends came over and wanted to play RuneScape. Naturally I sat and watched and got intrigued immediately.

 

From a irl friend in the 4th grade. I couldn't even complete the tutorial island myself lol.

 

the funny thing when i started:
i was too lazy to train any stats, the account i started with 9-10 years ago is still lvl 36 lol, i restarted with a "new account" (which is now over 8 years old) and i'm maxed
