Abortion

I dont believe in abortion whatsoever! I dont care if it doesnt have a heartbeat yet. You decided to have sex now deal with the consequences!

Oh well we all have our opinions! :D

What if a woman was raped? What if the condom breaks? What if two consenting adults just made a mistake? Should they be punished? Why don't you care? If you're so passionate about this issue, not caring about presence of a heartbeat seems a little irresponsible.

This topic isn't exactly black and white, so I'm not going to make an argument, which will lead to a debate that probably will never end.

I'll just add one fact:
During the process where the baby/fetus is being scraped or cut, it will squirm around to try to avoid its killer.

You claim you don't want to start an argument, then you post an incredibly provocative statement. No babys are harmed during abortions. The fetus is removed. The doctor isn't a killer; the fetus was never alive.

1. You're a hypocrite
2. The whole purpose of this subforum is to argue.

No civilized society permits one civilian to intentionally harm or take the life of another human without punishment, and abortion is no different. The argument of whether or not it is a fetus is irrelevant. After the sperm impregnates the egg I believe that is a human being in the making, airgo a human.

The argument of whether or not it is a fetus is the entire point behind abortions. If it is a human being in the making doesn't mean its a human, when it is removed it has no ability to survive and is a parasite at best. It is not alive and airgo is NOT killing a human it is that simple. Its essentially like hitting the abort button on an assembly factory line hence the term abortion.

Also civilized society permits humans to intentionally harm or take the life of another human without punishment, that is the ENTIRE point of the military. Follow a few guidelines and you are able to kill specified other humans without having to worry about any action against you.

Maybe for the sake of my comment I should have been more specific under acute criticism. Not sure how abortions and civilians getting them are in any way related to the military, didn't know it would get so twisted. Before it gets twisted again by saying self defense is permitting intentional harm or the taking the life of another human being, abortions are in no way related to self defense.
On the argument of a fetus being a human being or not is my opinion and my right to reserve, it is irrelevant to me, hence why I said "I believe" and not blasting like its factual. This is an endless argument as it is based on sole opinion. Not sure why I jumped in the lions den, but I resign and just wished to state my own opinion about the matter.

How I see it a fetus is basically a parasite it has no chance to survive without the mother. I think abortion should be legal because of many reasons like rape. Although at the end of the day I am a guy and I believe it should be up to women to decide.

I think that abortions should only be legal in a select time near the start of it forming and only later on if it would be born with severe dis-figuration or diseases.

This is obviously a very touchy subject.. My personal opinion is that it should be legal, If a unwanted baby was born it would more than likely go to an orphanage, and from i've heard it's a living hell on a daily basis. I wouldn't want to put that on anyone.

But I do agree with a previous statement that it should overall be up to the women. They are being put throught the hardships of giving birth.

So you think that babies should be killed if they're mentally retarded, disfigured, or sickly? That sounds pretty immoral. So healthy fetuses should get more legal protection than sick fetuses?

wow this really got me thinking
i really dont no what to say

That's evident.

The fetus isn't alive, so it isn't being killed etc. It is different. Your argument is predicated on scientific untruth. Literally nothing you said applies to abortion.

You should read annex's post from earlier in this thread.

Do you understand how to read? No clearly you don't you just see words you might understand and rage. What do you not understand about the words CRITICAL MASS? Oh wait all of it. So here is a definition for you:

The minimum required to start or maintain a venture

In this case the venture is life, and it would mean starting. Also abortions occur BEFORE the critical mass, thus the fetus is not alive, again your point is moot and useless.

Also to those who are saying that a fetus is alive before it reaches its obvious critical mass, lets compare it to a robot.

Assuming robots are living entities, there are several important components for it to function. Those are Memory, a CPU and a Powersupply (yes there are more but for the sake of argument those are the three important ones). Say you built a robot but there was no Power supply is it a living computer? No it isn't because it does not have the ability to power itself. Say there is no memory, once it turns on nothing happens because it has no programs that allow it to do anything. How about no CPU? well it would just be an expensive hard drive then, no sentience.

How does this correlate to a fetus? Well a fetus has no functioning brain until it hits a critical mass, which is essentually the processor and memory in one, so it cannot repeat processes to keep itself alive under any circumstances when removed from the host. It also has no power supply, if the mother dies or the umbilical cord malfunctions the fetus stops its growth. When a baby is born or "ready" to be born it has a brain and its digestive system is its power supply and thus it is alive. Assuming there is food to be found it has the ability to keep itself alive.

Furthermore the correlation exists in that a robot is not "alive" or a sentient species until it is built, which is the same with a fetus which is essentially a "building" human.

Illegal even tough the baby is not formed inside yet thats like killing it i know alot of people dont consider killing but for me its murder why would you get pregnet to start off?

Sai,

"why would you get pregnet to start off?" Many reasons, unprotected sex, rape, incest? Would you like to be forced to have a child from a man that you don't know that raped you? To raise that child even though it's the product of a horrible act? I wouldn't think so.

i always stand against abortion its a straight forward case of crime and its totally a prohibited act this stupid foolish thing which we sensible human beings are doing abortion . in all the religions of this world abortion is totally a prohibited and always cursed . abortion means killing a human life and i truly believe in i have my full faith in No Abortions No Circumcisions

Religion and law should not be connected. A fetus is not alive. I find it ironic that you place such reverence in the sanctity and infallibility of religious law, yet you also condemn circumcisions.

Personally I could care less about the kid. Whether abortion is moral is completely irrelevant to me.
However, the thing about abortion is that if you make abortion illegal, you are going to directly harm women and children who are actually alive
First of all: Illicit abortion clinics: this is about as safe as selling your kidney to some guy in a trench coat. Women will likely be hurt by bad medical practice and can't be protected legally, and the people who carry out the operation are able to scam, defraud, or charge exorbitant prices.
Secondly: Infanticide: If you can't kill a fetus before it's born, you can kill a baby after it's born. In areas of china where abortion is unavailable or too expensive, parents faced with the One Child law will often abandon or murder their children, after they are already conscious living beings.
Third: Even if neither of these happen, chances are the parents are not prepared for these events and in many casse will have issues caring for the child and will most likely deprive the child of many things they need to develop healthily. It is a huge burden and it hurts the parents as well as teh children.

Whether or not abortion is moral, it's the safer alternative for families to be able to access if if they wish to.

The real question here is whether the life of a born child or adult woman is worth more than that if a fetus - or in some cases whether simply killing just the fetus isn't enough, and a bonus genital mutilation is deserved as punishment.
