That's an incredible deal on that laptop. I have a Sony i7 quad core with 8 gigs of ram and I payed $1,500 2-years ago. Sounds like you've gotten really lucky price wise. You should also mention that Oregon doesn't have any tax, which is another reason why everything is so cheap.

We do not have any Sony stores in my area, although I wish we did now that I am hearing about all of these sales! My guess is that they are making most of their profits online or via other retailers such as Game Stop, Walmart, Best Buy, etc., which would make it more profitable to focus all of their resources on those fronts instead.

it's because apple opened stores near all of our sony stores, so they had competition, and with the ipad 3, they couldn't handle it, so my guess is they're going back to online sales + other stores like best buy, and they're going to come out with a new type of computer or electronic device.

Wow, this is nice to know about. The nearest Sony store is about 10 miles away, but if I can get a really good deal, it should be worth it.

Last time I went there, I got an amazing sound system for like 85% off. It was refurbished, but it was like it was brand new and it works amazingly.
