Instead of Facebooking her, how about talking to her in real life first? Become friends with her friends, sit with her during lunch hours, or go up to her and introduce yourself. I guarantee you it will work out better then becoming Facebook friends with her.

It's normal to be nervous/scared. If you can overcome that obstacle and just talk to her as a friend or something, it'll go fine (if she likes you :X).

And take my previous post from experience..I started chatting with this girl in my HS class on FB. She fucking loved having conversations with me. Then I saw her the next day and we were all like "uhm..hey.." and shit lol it's too awkward bro.
