Well, my little sisters friend is going out with a 17yr and he is almost 18, she is 13. Me and my friends keep joking around with things like "jail bait" and crap like that, but does anyone know the child predator laws with age and what not? What is legal and what is not with age and stuff.

Well, anyways what is your take on it?

She should date someone at her age,i would say maximum 15 years old or 16 is okay,
that's because if they were having an affair and someone else saw them or something he doesn't get charged for sexual harasment
(that's just my opinion)

The dude is a social reject no doubt, Im suprised the dad opened a can of whoop ass.

In the UK there are laws against such things but if the girl is game not much can do.

I always stick to the 2 year rule, There shouldn't be a bigger gap then two years imo.

Yeah and same with 90% of the people that know about it.

And whats funny is her dad\mom don't care :/

And the baddest thing about all,is that if he got 18 and he's still with your sister,he can be judged as an Adult and get in serious problems >.>

Yeah the 2 year is a good rule to stick by :p

Well, my little sisters *FRIEND*

not my sister, my sisters friend ;) if it was my sister I would open a can of whoop ass on him like Stuart was saying lol

Wow, that is plain out gross.

When the 17 year-old guy turns 18, he can get charged because he is a officially an adult.

Yeah, but she looks 15 though, maybe could get away with 16. But still acts 12 >.>

It depends where you live. If they're not doing anything sexual, there's nothing illegal. Where I live, it's illegal if either partner is under 16. So it doesn't matter if he's 17 or 27, it's the same crime.

FL laws, they aren't doing anything sexual but if a dude over 18 is "dating" someone 13 maybe 14 when he turns 18, is that still a "child predator act"?

It's not illegal if they both are willing to be in the relationship.
It becomes illegal if they do something sexual, in that case the guy can be imprisoned for quite some time.
Also I don't think it would be classed as child predator.
In my country it's not called that and to be honest he isn't being a 'predator' unless he is stalking her and she is not cool with him being anywhere near him, in which case its harassment.
Stuart is probably right a social reject.
And her being a naive teen who thinks hes cool because he has a car [ assumption ]
Been through this with a friend and his brother, cops were called and everything. boy 19, girl 15.

i knew a girl that was 12 an was with a guy that was 17.......and umm tbh they were doing sexual stuff and it seems kinda wrong to me, why would a guy that old want a girl so young?

i think its stupid and it wont last very long

shit ...

I'd make her pay me to go out with her.

You know what? I don't think you can draw a clear-cut line, and say "Any age difference larger than this is morally wrong!". It honestly depends on a whole host of factors, such as their emotional and physical development, social position, etc.

Besides, I don't see anything inherently wrong with dating someone who is far younger. If an 18 year old dates a 12 year old, and it works out fine, what would make that wrong?

My nan is 65 and my pa is 74, they were together when my nan was 15 and my pa was 24..

There is nothing wrong with that. If they love each other, then let them live their lives.

It's obviously legal, but any sex is illegal - (In England, anyway.)

It doesn't seem like such a fantastic idea for the girl; both members of the relationship will have different prospects for the relationship, which are in this case expected to be dangerously different.

If they are truly serious I don't see what the problem is, everyone is always talking about how it is wrong to date someone younger then yourself. Give me a real reason. If anyone is at a loss it is the older male who will have to completely support this girl untill she grows of age if they get serious. Let them do what they want...
